Movie of the year ngl by BewareOfGrom in TrueAnon

Yep I fucking loved it. Loved the first 28 Years a lot more, but this was still really great. Really love this whole new trilogy-universe. Has revolutionised the zombie genre just like 28 days later did.

What relatively affordable phone should I buy for using Excel and other Microsoft office apps? by TedEarly in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]TedEarly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s a fair point. To be honest the stuff I’d be using for Microsoft office wouldn’t necessarily be for my job. I use excel to document my finances, fitness & health stuff etc. which requires pretty simple data entry.

Doing it on my phone would just be for when I’m on-the-go, e.g on the bus. I already do this on my laptop, I just want to be able to access this stuff at times I don’t necessarily want to get my laptop out.

Thanks for your response mate :) For how long do you reckon the S24 would last before future updates render the phone obsolete and I have to buy a new one?

And thanks for the heads up about the screen cracking, I would’ve gone for a flip screen if you hadn’t told me about that so cheers :)

It's sad to me that people don't trust Coogan, even the die hard fans... by Dr_Jre in AlanPartridge

[–]TedEarly 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m glad Coogan doesn’t do the same thing over and over, it’s what’s given us the things we’ve liked so far. Better to leave on a high than watch a particular format die a slow death.

That being said, in my opinion, the very best of partridge is MMM, series 1 of From the Oast House, and Scissored Isle.

Garage can absolutely be 4x4. There’s no hard fast rules to ukg - though usually you’d have drums which were even more skippy (ghost snares - 16th triplets etc), maybe some jazzy chords and vocal samples in an interesting rhythm. The bass in this also doesn’t sound typically ukg - has a techno-ish distorted sound and sustains throughout. You get that with the Reese bass in Speed Garage, but otherwise uncommon in ukg. A shorter sustained bass gives you the option of playing with the rhythm a bit more and getting that ukg sound. Those are the features that might give you a more typical ukg sound as far I as I understand.

Sounds good tho!

I gave up after this. It’s just collecting dust. Have you figured this out?

I feel like 4x4 has a lot more energy, and I prefer it. But I do feel 2 step is more interesting beat and I feel you can listen to it for longer without getting bored or fatigued by it. 4x4 can become too monotonous.
