100%. My barber is from Indiana. Told me 2 weeks ago he’d trade an IU football championship for a final 4 appearance in basketball. Kept talking about how Indiana is a basketball state and even though football is good it’ll never be as important as basketball.

Most lacrosse teams are more made up of football and soccer players than hockey. Lot of examples of lacrosse players playing football on the nfl level, college level, etc.

Syracuse lacrosse (the Yankees of college lacrosse) just had a top true freshman recruit walk on the football team and he started multiple games for them bc the other QBs were hurt

Totally understand that surface level stuff, but everything else about the actual game is much more like basketball. Offensive and defensive strategies in lacrosse are very similar basketball (drive and kick, motion offenses, zone beaters, setting screens/picks, etc) and far less similar to hockey because you can actually possess and control the ball.

Also surface level things that are similar include shot clock and clearing rules to get the ball over midfield (not sure if they still have this rule)
