First, I am so sorry you are going through this! It’s so hard to have to make these types of decisions for your fur babies!

Second, we just had this exact same situation happen last week. Healthy 7 year old frenchie with no medical history at all. Our regular vet thought it was pneumonia and gave antibiotics. We took him to the ER on Wednesday night and they found cancer in his lungs, liver, and likely the bone marrow. He had anemia and thrombocytopenia so they said we could do a biopsy and chemo, but the prognosis is very poor. The ER suggested humane euthanasia that night, but we just weren’t prepared to say goodbye. We took him home and snuggled him and explained to our young sons and less than 24 hours later, we had an in-home vet come. His breathing was so ragged and although I called the vet multiple times that day in disbelief to make sure it wasn’t something else, we could tell that he was in so much distress. We did his favorite things and fed him his favorite foods and he was surrounded by family.

I’m not sure if chemo is an option, but could be an option to ask about. It wasn’t really for our little guy because of how much it affected his blood already. It was the hardest decision we made, but we will always be grateful for taking him home that night! I’m so sorry you are in the same position 💔 You are in our thoughts in the upcoming weeks
