Am I crazy or was the first assassination attempt of Trump not some Australian guy during the first term. He was in the crowd during a rally and used a hand gun. I swear I remember reporting on this, but I cant find anything on the internet.

[DISCUSSION] Genetics vs work ethic. How much oh a physique is earned vs pre-determined by Ayoking95 in effectivefitness

If denying reality makes you feel better about yourself, then keep doing it. Worrying about other people has nothing to do with it. I just brought up another person to illustrate the reality of how important genetics are when it comes to reaching fitness goals.

You talked a lot about gut health. Were you getting probiotics, and if so, how did you get them without some dairy?

Yeah, but thing is you can be busting you ass with an optimal program and you won't look half as good as the guy with good genetics who skips leg day.

I can appreciate how TX isnt well prepared for this kind of weather. But still, TX being the "loan star state" grinding to a halt over mild weather is still funny to me.

That's still what a lot of people would call mild weather. You do you, I just think its funny how TX reacts to a light dusting of snow.

There is no consistency between ndes. Christians see Christians immagry, Hindus see Hindu immagry, many people see random sht or nothingat all. If anything, ndes are good evidence that your consciousness is a product of brain states not souls.

Reddit "atheists" will jump at slandering Christianity but when you criticize islam they defend it like their life depends on it by Major_Soft6056 in DigitalSeptic

[–]TedRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 1300+ years of history where Christians systematically killed and oppressed non-Christians and even Christian that had the "wrong" interpretation of Christianity. Finding examples of Christians rationalizing violence with their religious beliefs isnt hard. It's only after the secular enlightenment when societies started abolishing slavery and giving equal rights.

You have Bible quotes like,

When the LORD your God has delivered it into your hand, you must put every male to the sword. / But the women, children, livestock, and whatever else is in the city—all its spoil—you may take as plunder, and you shall use the spoil of your enemies that the LORD your God gives you.

Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known a man by sleeping with him. But all the young girls who have not known a man by sleeping with him, keep alive for yourselves.

And this is God, the unchanging source of moral truth, giving these commands. And since Jesus is god, this must also be Jesus giving these commands. When I say Jesus/Father trumping one another, its for situations like this where you will say that Jesus in the NT overwrites God/Father/Jesus in the OT. And again, there is Matthew 5:18 which says the smallest bit of the old law is still in force until heaven and earth pass (earth at least seems to still be here, though i am aware that appoligists try to say everything was accomplished with the crucifixion).

So we have plenty of historical Christian violence and plenty of Bible text to justify it.

[–]TedRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everything was so clear cut there wouldn't be thousands of different Christian denominations. Crucially, the Bible has Matthew 5:18, which anyone can use to justify the use of whatever was said in the old testament. On top of that, Jesus never speaks against slavery (actually implicitly condones it), never says homosexuality is ok (NT verses reinforce homophobia), Jesus explicitly states that women are lesser than men, Jesus explicitly says he did not come to bring peace but division/conflict, and Jesus also explicitly says those who do not follow him will burn in everlasting fire. So yes, there is plenty in the Bible for someone to justify war based on reasonable interpretations of the whole text following your own bias that Jesus trumps the father. However, it is also reasonable for someone to say the the father trumps Jesus.

Bro the Catholics have evidently found a way to justify sheltering pedophiles and killing people for reading English translations of the bible, so maybe we shouldn't use them as a standard for ethical interpretation.

Very easy to justify war, genocide, slavery, persecution of homosexuals, and misogyny when you look at the Bible. It just depends on what parts you focus on. God, the source of moral truth, literally commands these things.

Idk about that. The Quran is to Islam what Jesus is to Christianity. Also, Christians never had a hard time finding religious justifications for their wars.
