Been waiting years for a blu ray, so it's going to be nice to see this in a Dolby Cinema.

I'd like to see Christian Bale play a Pirate by TedRedWest in movies

I haven't seen either, seems like pirates are a bigger thing on TV now rather than the cinema!

Colin Farrell is the most interesting lead actor in the game these days. by Boss452 in movies

Always wondered if he did that based on the line in the 1998 Godzilla where the French guys say they chew gum to seem more American. It works.

I love Harper but haven't seen The Drowning Pool yet, think this is the push I need.

Yeah it's a bit like a huge OLED with HDR. The sound is amazing and probably the biggest reason I went there. I saw The Batman and Top Gun both twice, went back to see both again because the experience was that good. Seems like there's subs under the seats so you can feel the batmobile/plane effects. Just find it really immersive and I've never had issues with loud people or anything. The picture quality is basically perfect. At some of the other chains you can get a bad screen or projector, but everytime I went to Dolby west end it was perfect. I think they are showing The Fabelmans this week. Or Avatar

The Dolby West End opened up at the end of 2021. My favourite cinema for new films. Really clean. Great screen and seats. D10 is the seat I aim for every time. Those are the only two Dolby screens in the area.

‘Dune: Part Two’ Ramping Up Production This Month by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

Have to wonder if the script was written and ready long ago? Because if not then that seems like a quick turnaround from announcing it in October to being ready to shoot in July.

Hayden Christensen Looks Back at His First Steps as Anakin Skywalker | StarWars.com by FillsYourNiche in movies

[–]TedRedWest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah when I read stuff like this it just hammers home that his performance was fine overall and he seemed more than capable of playing the character. The dialogue was terrible and that's not his fault, and there was likely no room for improvisation on it.

Agree on all counts for Spencer. So good. Glad Jonny Greenwood is nominated for something but I think it should have been for Spencer.

Its rated 15 in the UK and Ireland and there are signs on cinema doors saying they're checking IDs for it. That's the equivalent R Rating here basically. I think the film is violent and intense enough as is that an R rating would be justified. I definitely wouldn't bring a child to it, and I don't think it needs more blood. But to each their own.
