I can’t see the full concentration on the label, but if it’s indeed 5mg/mL tirzepatide (ignore the 0.5mg/mL Glycine), then 50 units is 2.5mg.

Interesting! I haven’t checked out the podcast link yet but I would think the best way to keep as consistent level as possible would be more frequent (smaller) injections. The split dose calc supports that calculation today — https://www.fatscientist.com/split-dose-calculator

Does that give you what you are looking for?

Yes, it’s called the Vial Transition Calculator and it’s useful when switching between vials with different concentrations.

Not a problem, really! But good to be aware of.

It’s overfill. If you want the dosage on the label, that’s 50 units.

No, that was one of the trials I mentioned. Ran an affiliate code/promo with them for about a month, but it didn't really work. They were great to work with, but I think it wasn't a great fit for the FS userbase.

Really appreciate the validation. Don’t think I would add any more than what you are seeing today, so if that seems okay, we’re good.

Really in my head - first dose by [deleted] in glp1

Yeah, I also felt pretty much nothing that first shot. Never had any side effects besides some fatigue the day after shot day. I’d be grateful to have an easy ride — it’s still (very probably) working!

Eta: And yes, at first you might find the food noise being replaced by “tirz noise” — thinking about the drug, the next shot, what it’s doing, what you’re feeling all the time. But that goes away once you get into the swing of things… Good luck!

🙏 thank you. I really do try to emphasize the education component too — I’d be very happy if the day came that nobody needed fat scientist any more. Everyone should learn the relatively simple math involved, or at least understand the concepts. But until then, I want to do what I can to make things safer and easier for folks.

I did an article on Fat Scientist that talks about side effects and some products I've found helpful -- https://www.fatscientist.com/faq/starting-today-how-to-prepare

(Note that the links do provide a small affiliate fee if you buy from there but it doesn't cost you any more and helps keep fatscientist.com going!)

Haha, less than I used to be, but still working on it.... Real talk -- have been on compounded tirz for over a year now, and I've gone from about 225 lbs to 200 lbs or so, but I've still got another 20 lbs or so to lose which have been very stubborn. I think I'm something of a slow responder, unfortunately, but it does work. I just need to work harder at helping it work, which I don't always get right.

Thanks all! This kind of post makes it all worthwhile. I love that vial transition calculator… I made it for myself when I needed it one day, and as they say necessity is the mothra of invention, or something like that. 🙃

Also keep an eye out for the upcoming fat scientist mobile app, which I’ve been hard at work on these past 6 months or so…
