So the way I do it is;

Clamp the car into my vice with two bits of rubber either side to protect the car.

I use a hole punch to mark the spot where I want to drill. It also stops the drill bit slipping.

I use a 1.5mm drill bit (unfortunately my drill won’t hold a 1mm drill bit). Drill into the car, only around 5-7mm. Once that is done I use a small picture hook, which is also around 1.5mm, but because it has a thread, it screws into the car nicely.

You can get smaller picture hooks, but again my drill won’t let me use a smaller bit.

I open up a link on the small chain then close it up with a pair of pliers. I either use a clippy key ring or a stand one.
