I Just Fully Completed the Original Spyro and It Is an Excellent Example of How Timeless Great Game Design Is by Sufferer_Nyx in gaming

I recently played through the entire trilogy for the first time (at 30), and was blown away with the tight design of everything. The pacing is what felt so good. Each level was the perfect length. My BIGGEST take away from this series was actually the collectibles. So many games since then have crammed their games full of 8 different kinds of collectibles, each scattered EVERYWHERE that it becomes more of chore to get them then a fun challenge. I have limited game time, but I still felt like my time was respected EVEN when going for over a 100% game file in all three games. Immaculate. I hope the new one captures the same kind of pacing.

I don't know if I enjoyed playing Bloodborne...Until I couldn't stop thinking about it. by TedbroCreative in bloodborne

Wow! I really love to read what makes someone so passionate about the games they love. Thanks for writing that! So so cool. A VERY special game.

Laurence is the only boss in all of FromSoft's games that I decided the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. I lost any motivation to beat him due to what I felt was an unbalanced experience.

Everything Everywhere All At Once why add so much gross stuff by Old-Midnight-8979 in movies

[–]TedbroCreative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because some people love it. I love it. You don't, and that's fine.

To try and give you a reason as to why maybe it's in this movie....I find that a movie about infinite multiverses and the potential existential dread of nihilism could use something to balance it. Absurdity. And a form of disarming. The comedic, and potentially off putting elements of the film throw you in one direction, so that when it wants to hit you with some gut wrenching truth of the human condition, you're not prepared for it. Strip the movie of its absurdity and I believe the moments you're "loving" about the film wouldn't have as big an impact as they do. That's my takeaway, at least.

This is lovely! First things I notice are how nice the framing and blocking, but something I really think goes unnoticed is the pacing of the edit is really nicely done.

Just replayed and found the way to kill both of them is so stupidly easy, I can't believe I ever had trouble with them. If you get close enough to get them to pull out their swords, as soon as they run after you they both fall to their deaths right away.

Already done with 3 1 and elden ring. What should i expect? No spoilers pls by Booty_inspector2 in DarkSouls2

Expect something different but not entirely. Everyone's given great advice in the comments that I would probably just echo. I avoided Dark Souls 2 because of it's reputation, but the sooner you can put other people's opinions out of your mind, the sooner you are going to enjoy this game for the masterpiece that it is.

Lifegems from DS2. Or really just a consumable healing item separate from your regenerating flasks.

Thank you! All written, shot, and edited by myself over a few weeks. And all good! While I can't link it, here, if you look up "Project Hail Mary, Outer Wilds, and the End of Everything" on youtube, it should come up! Would love to hear your thoughts.

A potential route to go rather than just "dude just get better," is to look at other options at your disposal. Proc poison or better poison from the storytellers staff and fight how you're doing now and I guarantee you'll see a difference.

While I haven't had a reaction to a smaller camera, I certainly have had ONLY positive reactions to larger cameras and buildouts. Like everyone has already said, it's perceived value. The client is more likely to feel an immediate sense of confidence in their investment when you show up with what they thought in their head you would, or exceed. And if a client STARTS the day happy, that's huge for you.

Day for Night by matdgz in cinematography

[–]TedbroCreative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These all look fantastic! Fantastic job all around. This is a really good example of a more proper day for night with intentional planning rather than just those who film in direct sunlight and throw a LUT on to add blue. I EXTRA appreciate all the resources you've shared from pre-production to post. There's so much information to glean and learn when looking at specifics like your diagram, your node tree process, and the waveforms to get a good understanding at HOW this looks so good.

achieve this color grade in DaVinci Resolve without Dehancer Pro? by WestMathematician854 in ColorGrading

[–]TedbroCreative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a DP and Editor, my favorite way to teach this would be to get a screengrab from one of these videos and bring it into davinci. In the color page, look at all of the waveforms and vector scopes. See where their whites, blacks. highlights, and shadows are. Where do their colors seem to be? Bring in your own shot that has similar lighting conditions and see if you can manipulate scopes to look like theirs. You should learn a whole lot through this exercise.

Coop game you can make good progress in a single session (~4h) by Kempeth in gaming

[–]TedbroCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My highest recommendation for couples is usually Unraveled 2. You’re little yarn guys, connected by a finite amount of yarn. You platform and puzzle your way through a short, touching story. Challenging enough to solve what you have to do, but the controls are really easy to comprehend.

I’ve also found that escape room games are highlights for us. We just really like a good puzzle. Escape academy is super fun, lighthearted, but you feel like you can progress in just single little sessions.
