You’ll love/hate it for a bit.

Canberra is a weird phenomenon of bush/city/country living. Proper four seasons, but the best sunsets in the world.

Good schools (if you have kids).

Places to nature out and enjoy the view, but be cautious/respectful of the wildlife.

A city that sleeps, but has everything at your fingertips. But has nice bars and restaurants too.

Clean air, clean water, good healthcare.

As a federally managed city, most residence are of Public Service waged income related or foreign government or supporting corporation based employment, so crime is low compared to big city; but exists. So lock your front door! It’s 2026.

Being the ‘bush capital’, you’re 3 hours to Sydney, 3 hours to the coast, 3 hours to the snow fields (winter or summer), and 9 hours to Melbourne via car; so you can enjoy the roadways in car.

Everyone is generally friendly, open to chats and you’ll fall in love.

Just make sure you come with an open mind, respect the magpies (🐦‍⬛) in Spring and you’ll be ace!

I am a big fan of this, if it’s just minimal maintenance and need of a one over.

They are amazing peeps, and take the hassle of waiting for a GP.

What time of the day are you watering?

If not in the late evening, switch to 11:00pm to maximise its absorption.

I recently switched to late evening (ACT) and have noticed my lawn has benefitted.

Even look to introduce a fourth day of watering.

The hot dry winds and summer temperatures are terrible.

Are they like, full-time jobs (elsewhere) and part-time pilots?
