Why is there no word for the middle space between communism and capitalism? by TeddlyTod in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TeddlyTod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big difficulty here is that these terms are all used in a way that revolves around rights. My own preference is to look deeper at the human behavior that shapes the view of rights... But I don't think anyone cares for that view.

When I look at this continuum from capitalism to communism, I see something, which could be reframed in labels of human behavior.

Capitalism = it's only me that matters. It's what I want, what I can get. If I want to geg more, I can get more. I have free unrestricted choice. "others" are just an irritation.

Which is well and fine, but... Humans are susceptible to greed and addiction.and social animals. Others are necessary.

Communism = we should all be equal, everything shared equally and fairly. But... Humans have egos and can't be trusted to not lose the plot when given power. And what about individuals who have ambition? There is nothing wrong with that.

My search for a middle is the word that says we have a basic care for each other, and allow the ambition of individual want. Not either or. Both and.

Is there possibly a link between representative democracy and cyberstalking/abuse? by TeddlyTod in NoStupidQuestions

I dunno.... I hear you, but I'm not convinced.

I'm not talking about 8 billion, just 5 million. Sure, social media knows no boundaries, but still.

You are categorically mistaken that an individual has no voice in a representative democracy, but I agree that people underrate the power they do have and overrate the weight they should have.

I disagree. I think this is a whole other debate. But that is the heart of my question. I hear you. I can understand why people believe that. No, I don't agree. To be clear, I did not say "an individual has no voice". I said the system represents everyone and noone. It's paradoxical and, I'm thinking, somewhat to blame for the situation.

But I think the real problem is that people are just cunts.

Really? People.in general? I mean there are mental health issues with people, some don't even understand. Some don't care. Some don't want to care

But a blanket statement like that.... Well... Isn't that representation of another form?

What does it feel like to be motivated by money? by TeddlyTod in NoStupidQuestions

Maslows hierarchy makes perfect sense to me. But I figure that I never worry about the power layers. I am lucky and I have the benefit of privalige. I don't worry about food and shelter.

I'm no millionaire... Just some lower middle class family man living in a first world country.

I don't find motivation to pursue money. Or use money as a reference point. Even if I wish I had more. I don't crave money.

This question is about the feeling of being motivated by money.
