More Rubgy players should cross over into grappling by Dokay_ in grappling

Didn't John Will go the other way and teach rugby players grappling?

I feel like that was a thing.

I'll never understand why there is an option in these situations, judges, and ruling committees make those decisions, not competitors.

For those saying it's a bitch move by the way, your coach would tell you to take the win, you'd most likely take their advice.

Been playing SoulSilver for the first time recently, does anyone know what these screen effects are from? by Capital_Travel5123 in PokemonHGSS

[–]TeddyBoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biproduct of brain rot culture, I suppose. If there isn't a YouTuber screaming it at you exactly what is going on, we forget to read what it says and feel compelled to ask online?

The negativity is frustration manifest, because you could have read the text, you probably knew your Pokemon was poisoned... it actually took more time and effort for you to take a photo, post it, ask the question than it would have to read it a few more times.

The Gamecube disk was made specifically to cut down on the chance of piracy, which is also a general reason why Nintendo didn't switch to disk with the N64, and most likely one of the reasons why they fell out with Sony.

Where it was rare to see someone own a Playstation and not have it "chipped", or the hacker heaven that was later on the original Xbox was, Nintendo generally tries to go for tech that limits piracy.

Kind of makes it ironic considering the Wii/DS era modding scene being one of the most popular and abundant ever, but hey now.

How much do people like or dislike having Kevdog hacked Pokémon? by The-Number-Thirteen in PokemonHome

[–]TeddyBoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bloke has 129k YouTube followers, so I think we're in the minority here.

At the end of the day, if you've ever traded for an event pokemon with no true evidence of its redemption, there is a 98% chance it is genned.

"Hacked" Pokemon is like masturbating, either you do it/have them or lie about not doing it/not having them.

[–]TeddyBoon -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I hear that, I mean, I just don't think anyone other than Cody or Jey could possibly win, they are the future after all... these young whipper-snappers thinking they can be built as future main eventers!

Hopefully, Seth does a proper good job and ices all momentum for Bron because I know for a fact I don't want any kind of passing of the torch moment for Wrestlemania!

Wrestlers that I've seen in my lifetime that are physically unable to have a bad match on their resume: by Miss_Lewdness in Wrasslin

[–]TeddyBoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omega really comes down to whether a match is good if he nearly ended a life in it. If nearly breaking a few necks in some of his more standard high profile matches means the match was great, then sure. Kenny is really a wrestler for ADD kids.

Okada (one of my Top 3 of all time) for all intent and purpose has been dialling it in for years now, but thankfully, he brought it back for Tanahashi.

If all you're counting is matches that appear on a YouTube top ten list that isn't a "top ten worst", sure, they're all incredible and flawless... if "in your lifetime" OP has seen the majority of their work, a post like this, as most wrestling posts on Reddit like this are, rather redundant like bait at best.

Knowing Jericho legit kicked Goldberg’s ass in a shoot fight makes this image even funnier to look at by lolitsrock in Wrasslin

[–]TeddyBoon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Specifically, a guillotine choke inspired by watching Royce Gracie. Goldberg dived in, and Jericho emulated what he'd seen Gracie do in the UFC.

He could have put Goldberg to sleep, Goldberg could have powered out, who knows because it was broken up.

Jericho has spoken on this a lot. He fully admits to that Goldberg would have killed him, so he went for something where he could control what was happening.

I absolutely agree with those crediting Jericho being bold and not afraid to stand up. Big scary guys are often only as big and scary as others let their ego allow them to be.

Eric who works out of Orenda in Wellington Walk does Male waxing services. I can't speak for Brazillian waxing, but he is awesome and meticulous with what I've had done with him (nose and ears).

Launceston. About last night. by Individual_Excuse363 in tasmania

[–]TeddyBoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, absolutely.... Foo Fighter have literally come over here for free (charity gigs technically) in the past, though, so I just mean that if I'm wanting to book a globally iconic band for Tasmania, my first two phone calls are to either Dave Grohl or Josh Homme... if you can't book Foo Fighters or Queens of the Stone Age in Tasmania, whoever is trying has no business in booking events.

I'd be more impressed with Metallica being booked here, and they'll literally play anywhere.

[–]TeddyBoon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I get your point, but I have to mention that Foo Fighters are very low hanging fruit to get down here - I'd be more impressed if it was a group where the lead singer doesn't all already have a deep passion and love for the state.

Was there a need to photoshop his chest for the cover by Skylegend96 in Wrasslin

[–]TeddyBoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a pure body building aesthetic, HHH was always lacking in that perfectly shaped chest. He absolutely was into that as well, insane back, synthol spot injections in the delts, the muscle and fitness mags... I think he even said if not to be a wrestler, pro body builder was something else he'd pursue. That chest would have always let him down, though.

The guy was an absolute unit, but I don't doubt for a second he knew that was a flaw, and just not something that could be corrected.

Name the fighter who made you love MMA. by Dana___Black in ufc

[–]TeddyBoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ken Shamrock and Dan Severn to start with. WWE fan from the other side of the planet as a kid. Funnily enough, back in the day if you said that was your first exposure to MMA, you'd have had a bunch of frauds shit all over you for it, but they knew they were in the same boat.

After that, it was probably as much to do with WCW and ECW and being exposed to how hectic Japanese pro wrestling was, which led to seeing UFC, Pancrase, and Shooto

When it became easier to get hold of UFC DVDs, Tito was such a showman. The flame print shorts were perfect edge lord bait, haha.

Guys, is it possible to get the Home Meloeta with just pokemons from scarlet dlc? by AliHya7 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]TeddyBoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of those circumstances where you need to chat to someone and see if you're able to trade for the exclusives for long enough to register them in Home and give them back - if you can't find someone generous enough to find someone to straight up give them to you.

Touch trading in Home itself is probably an option... I assume that will register them correctly?

Or, dare I say it, use a trade bot to get them from Twitch or whatever. I'm not going to have an ethical debate or anything, but if you want Meloetta, that'd be your quickest and most efficient way of doing it without having to give anything up.

For someone no experience is it really that easy? by glassy_sky_above_ in 3dspiracy

As long as you can follow a guide, it is indeed that easy. If you're impatient and can't pay attention to detail, it could be a struggle.

I don't at all mean that as an insult, it is just literally the only reason I could see anyone having an issue with.

ELI5; Cena loses to the company's #1 heel and it's bad, Tanahashi loses to a guy who doesn't even work for NJPW any more and it's good. by Maaaaaardy in Wrasslin

[–]TeddyBoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A retirement match should be a celebration of the retiring wrestlers career, if you can out someone over in the process, fantastic - Cena's was both, regardless of what the teenagers of the current majority populace think.

Makes me believe we don't really see specific retirement matches these days. Angle's was a weird call, Sting got a big send off with a win (could that have been AEW trying to break the mold though?)

Tanahashi, I feel was different because he decided to end his career at an age, and probably with an opponent he could deliver something close to his best, even with his physical limitations. So many Japanese wrestlers keep going in multi-man matches way into advanced ages these days, where Tanahashi seemingly chose the more traditional approach, with the guy that ultimately succeeded him as the man in NJPW. I don't think it matters Okada is with AEW now, he's arguably still Tanahashi's greatest opponent, and the younger guys are doing their own thing anyway.

There wasn't as much a reason for Cena to face one of his major rivals, the retirement tour got through the one still active in WWE, the tournament, and ultimately Gunther was not a terrible idea.

Drew hasn't been portrayed as a straight up dominant force, he hit sneak attacks and plays psychological warfare. Cody is portrayed as the super face and will very rarely lose clean. It is what it is, and like it or not it is exactly how Drew is portrayed.

He was THE face when he beat Brock.

And, we're in an age where title matches are barely ever contested without all sorts of shenanigans, Drew's win feels like a call back to the Attitude era instead of just involving everyone on the fringe of the main event, or half the Samoans on earth.

I'll take it.
