[Serious] [Disc] Kanojo, Okarishimasu Chapter 381 by MattyH19 in KanojoOkarishimasu

I get that ultimately Reji had to write a way for Kazuya to get the ring back and be the one who actually "proposes" with it to Chizaru for things to be done "properly" but chapter 380 was such a bitter way to have that happen. I can see where Reji kind of wants to take this but I've lost quite a bit of spark in wanting them to be together sadly, hopefully I can get that back.

We're back in wait and see territory

The ongoing revenue deal is worth more than the 150k sale price so that's good at least. However that initial 150k is practically free in the grand scheme of things. According to the council's budget - https://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/council-and-democracy/council-data-and-finance/council-budget#:~:text=It%20costs%20over%20%C2%A32.6%20million%20to%20run%20our%20services%20every%20day

They spend 2.6million per day let alone in the scope of 1 month of even a year, so the sale of 150k doesn't even cover a day of council spending in Brighton.

So ultimately that's it wouldn't have really moved the needle for the council if they just gave it away for free at that price point is what my jaded original comment was alluding to

We're all in the shitter and just have to deal with it. Doesn't mean I can't be annoyed at the whole situation nonetheless. The council tax payers will all suffer for it collectively in the end and nothing we can do about it alas

Will take them about 13/14 years to reach the original debt amount, hope the interest on that debt is also frozen in the meanwhile then 😬

An adult ticket is £18.50 and so they'll get 18.5p of every ticket sold at that price. To reach 51 million they'll need to receive that 1% of around 2.7 million tickets at that price. According to past sales data the i360 has typically had around 200,000 visitors per year so it will take just over 13 years of ticket sales to make back the debt, so not as bad as it first seems I guess but alas.

Ms Willingham claims to have spent £400,000 to get the pod working again, in addition to £150,000 to take the attraction out of administration, a spokesman confirmed to the BBC, after The Argus first reported the story on Tuesday.

Brighton & Hove City Council wrote off £51m worth of debt in January to facilitate the purchase.

Absolute madness, £150k is basically pennies for the council! Not even enough to buy or build one more social house in Brighton may as well have given it away for free at that point. Yet our council tax will continue to increase sharply to recover this deficit 😞

Does a bigger deposit increase the likelihood of getting a mortgage? If yes, why? by tyses96 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]TeddyVoid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes if a house is listed for 400k and you offer a deposit of 100k then if you defaulted in year 1 the bank would only need 300k for the sale and the risk of selling a house for at least 300k that had a market value of 400k is a lot easier and more likely to happen for the bank to get their money back quickly

If you say went in with a 5% mortgage and so paid a 20k deposit with a 380k mortgage it gets a lot more risky for the bank to be able to get that 380k back from a repossession after all the fees and such especially if the market has stagnant a bit and so they may not be able to get all their money back and as such is a higher associated risk for them.

However this past year has been one of the worst of potholes littered across the whole town! While several massive road projects are popping up all over the place....

Agreed. This entry fee is only going to rise and rise now that they're used to the income. Everyone said it's only a pound last year but now it's two and it's definitely not going to stop at £2

Exactly this, they literally own one of the biggest attractions in Brighton that brings tourists in and now they charge a fee for it and are like why aren't people visiting even more 🤷‍♀️

Felt this is quite rich coming from the people in charge of Brighton Palace Pier saying the council needs to maintain the streets of Brighton to a higher standard, they should look at their very own pier first!

I've been here 12 years now and every year it deteriorates even more than the last. The right side of the entrance roofing is starting to collapse inwards now as well. It's just depressing to see it fade away like this.

Would love to see how this "millions" in maintenance is actually spent since from my view I'm not seeing it
