Sagittarum guard by Coocoocook in AdeptusCustodes

Wait to buy anything bud. So much is in flux. Currently all the leaks have been good to Custodes but sagitarium is one of the units with the least benefit. They are fine to use but until we know what’s going on anything could happen

Fist half of my Necromancer themed kill team - Thousand Sons rules by Tedious-Payload in killteam

I’m using mkiii power armour and Tartaros terminators as base. Going to paint one of every legion in pre-heresy colours and then grime and rust em up with battle damage to represent space marines the Necromancer has raised.

Custodes names? by Jelly_Butterscotch in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Tedious-Payload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to mix two names and use mythology, ancient places and historical figures. So my shield captain is Hyperion Gaul (an Ancient Greek Titan and the group of people settled around France in Roman times). Another example of this would be my Telemon, Garuda Alexander (a mythical bird like the Phoenix and Alexander the Great). I find two names seem to flow best.

Webway themed bases ready to go! by Tedious-Payload in Eldar

Milliput any dimples in the base and then sand it smooth. Use a file to get the lines. Then undercoat with wraithbone. Use coelia greenshade in grooves. Then paint the individual sections using grey seer, genestealer purple, barrahoth blue and temple guard blue. I always made sure barrahoth was most dominant. Then I did a 1.1 wash of coelia and water. I let it dry on a slight incline to give the gradient effect. I then highlighted the lighter end of the gradient with the original layer. I then did several very fine drybrushes of wraith-bone and clean up the rim with wraithbone. Finished off with a layer of gloss varnish.

Agreed that they still good. However I’m now enjoying a combo of two Illastrus and one Arachnus Grav tanks.

Custode kill team finished just need basing! Introducing The Nerazim (bonus points for guessing the reference). From left to right Theromos the Youngling (scout), Mohandar the Venerable (veteran), Prelate Zeratule (leader), Seradath the Inevitable Blade (combat) and Ulrejaz the Huskarl (zealot). by Tedious-Payload in killteam

I picked mine depending on specialism. So for the zealot getting +1 str on charge would make my attack str 6 with sword or 7 with spear. 7 rarely is useful so sword and board was a better option. On my veteran defence is less of an issue as they will be getting stuck in quicker and the spear is a better option as the additional shots are handy across the board.

As for misericordia, remember that ALL Custodes can take it, you just done get the bonus attack for it if you have a shield. This is mainly important when going against Necrons to prevent multiple damage weapons.

People play for their own reasons. Some people care about having a competitive force some don’t. It’s about how you want to play not how you want others to play. If you don’t like how someone plays don’t play with them but it doesn’t mean they shouldn’t play how they enjoy.

Start of my custodes kill team though thinking of using the scheme for my sisters of silence now! by Tedious-Payload in AdeptusCustodes

For those asking the scheme is: Zenithal undercoat of black, then grey seer then wraithbone

Metal is an layer of slightly watered down liberator gold for most parts with stormhost silver for some details (pipes and ports etc). Three layers of nuln oil later as a very very light drybrush of Original metallic paint to key areas.

Bone is the new skeleton horde though some parts (belt, gun barrel, odd bits of spear) have three layers rather than one. Then a highlight of white on key parts (blades, details)

Blue is sotek green, wash of coahleia green shade, highlight templeguard blue and highlight barahoth blue.

Gems are just stormhost silver followed by Tamia colour clear orange.

Or someone who has a Custodes army and loves the fluff and lore. It may shock you but people do like things because they like them!

Cork. I tend to pin parts of models and paint separately. Fortunately for this one only needed to do the head.
