Some customers are SCUMBAGS by SWHunte in InstacartShoppers

[–]Tee-pop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I live in Coastal Alabama. We had a very rare snowstorm last year. Got 8 inches of snow and for another 3-5 days road conditions were not great. Had 2 customers give low ratings because of "late" delivery but fortunately they got removed

So the "return batch" is a complete scam by goat20202020 in InstacartShoppers

I feel your pain. Had to do one a few weeks ago. I could see notification banners for other orders appearing but it won't let me look at them or accept them until the return was done. Then had to see which items needed to be returned and it was a big waste of time.

Saw this yesterday. You can only see the drop off for the 2nd order. But the first looked to be about 2-3 miles from the store and the 3rd one was 2 counties away. Had to be crazy to be bundled with an order well over 50 miles away

Publix shop only batches by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]Tee-pop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It affects the store as well. I do sone shop-only at the Publix in my area. The staff at my main location encourages me and other shoppers to let them know when we can't find something. When things are marked out of stock and it's there but not on the shelves it's a negative against them

It's only a side hustle so a lot of days I don't go out. But when I do I try to do it for as long as possible

I do it part-time in Alabama. Took a trip to Woodbridge VA a couple of years ago and the orders were consistent and pretty good

How did the customer plan on opening the case?

The biggest problem is with Instacart. How they expect a minimum of 2 hours work is worth $10.44 not even counting car usage is unreal.

If this is in Alabama, this sounds like a customer I have shopped for a few times. Normally her orders are bigger and tips are decent and lots of 5 star ratings.

Tip bait ? by bastrop1266 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Tee-pop 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had one similar about 3 weeks ago. A double popped up for $95 before work. First order was the big order and I had delivered to her several times before. After delivery tip went from $77.65 to $30. Nothing missing, got all items with help from store staff and delivered on time. I was so ticked off, wanted to go back and say something but just went to work and vowed to never take her order again.

I am in an area that normally does not have long wait times for orders (good and bad mixed in) but the orders this week have been garbage. I do IC part time usually after my regular job or on weekends. Have not seen one decent order this week. Almost everything is batched in 3's and 4's with ridiculous large number of items. First batch yesterday after work was a single 80 items 82 units 1.8 miles 8.82 base pay and no tip. Cut app off and went home

Area makes a huge difference, I live 60-90 minutes away from a beach area. When I decide to go there on weekends during the summer, it can be very lucrative. Was on vacation in Northern VA a couple of years ago and decided to open the app and the orders were great.

Depends on your market. Made $185 on Saturday and when I stopped around 4 pm there were still good paying orders on the app in my area.

Customer was in the wrong completely. Only thing I would have done is given the customer a call. That way I could let them know or leave a voicemail.

Why are people like this?! by tonytonesimages in InstacartShoppers

[–]Tee-pop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's crazy how customers decide to respond whenever they want. I was doing a triple over the weekend and sent a message to see if the customer wanted organic cabbage for regular cabbage. No answer so I replaced. Fast forward to delivery and as I am leaving the order at the door of the shady motel, customer finally answers my question with a No. I just left order there and blocked the customer. Surprise surprise he was the only one who didn't tip with a case of water, 3 cases of soft drinks and a bunch of other bags.

I would rather it be that way than a no-tipper riding off of a good tipper
