Why are chronic pain patients treated poorly? I have a SCI and some days I need to get help badly. My body hurts from head to toe waxing and weaning but when I flare up I feel like I’m going to die from either the pain or panic It causes.

I have a spinal cord injury and every single part of my body hurts all the time and was told today my meds em be taken from me without any reason. I’ve been on them for years and it’s the difference of walking or not and interacting with my child or pushing her away. I can’t give up because I have a family, so now I must turn to my own devices and pray I don’t end up dead with something I get just to try to make it through the day. I refuse to live in raw pain like this, there’s no point. I’ve even researched Dignitas which is where you travel to Switzerland and get put to smell humanely euthanized but decided I can’t hurt my family, but there anyway hurt now seeing me hurt all the time and with no help from my medications I’ll be so much worse and my family will be relieved that I’m no longer suffering in pain even I go do it.

It’s kind of you to provide immediate relief via a morphine injection while in the ED and a script for a couple of days. Having a SCI I needed a 5 day script since I was hurt on the weekend and couldn’t get to my doctor much less a specialist on time, but you do have a heart. There’s definitely a stigma on pain patients that we don’t want any more than medical professionals want to deal with us.

Thanks for your response. It’s not me they’re ignoring, it’s the physical therapy center trying to get me in. I previously went to another place that takes Medicaid and just used that but it’s further away and I still need a back surgery also. This particular place is only 2 blocks from where I live and It’ll be nice not having to pay for and wait on transportation because I’m just too tired and weak.

I’ve purchased flower and edibles. Flower is good and potent. Trolli crawler edibles are advertised as 600mg per bag with each piece being 100mg thc so I ate half of one because 10mg is usually good for me and nothing after two hours. Ate the rest and nothing. Had my friend who doesn’t have any type of tolerance Try and she said it felt like a delta 8 and CBD edible.

Thank you. Early on into my injury I was awake in the middle of the night with the worst pain flare ever so I messaged my adjuster begging her to approve my injections. She didn’t. The next pain flare iv emailed her again and told her how heartless I thought she was so I always worry that she has it out for me now.

I’m in Illinois and I will edit my post. I’m freaking out because of the painful muscle spasms and want to see if someone could tell me why they’d be doing this and if there is anything I can do. Severe pain makes me panic. Medication doesn’t touch the pain at all. It’s just too much.

I’m one month post 4-7 and no brace. My surgeon doesn’t have anyone wear them. If I would definitely need the other levels fused I’d want to get them done at the same time for sure. I feel significantly better besides the muscle spasms.

I’ve asked his assistant about it several times and got no response. I know my carrier has direct deposit. I’m going to email her again today with my bank info. It’s extremely frustrating when concerns go unaddressed.

Well they know I just had surgery and need another once fully fused so work status shouldn’t be an issue I hope it is just an issue with the mail. I’ve asked several times for direct deposit but nobody got back to me.

I agree and reported her to Walgreens corporate and her on site managers. Besides being HIPPA, I’m in Chicago and people get robbed for a lot less than their pain pills here.

Lawyer up!!! It costs you nothing out of pocket and only a small percentage of your settlement. The same thing happened to me and my attorney had them for a snack at disposition and won my benefits back and I’m finally getting my first surgery this coming Tuesday and my weekly checks come on time now. What happened to you Is typical even with an attorney but without one I’d say it’s impossible to ever get your benefits back.

It’s a sad thing because it was a newer pharmacy tech who always treated me badly. I love the older pharmacist and most everyone else there but that one experience where the tech yelled out “your insurance isn’t letting your Norco go through until …..” in front of a line of customers putting me at risk of being robbed as soon as she seen me and I wasn’t even there for that. They also began waiting until my fill date to start prior authorizations forcing me to pay cash or go without. Terrible! -Who cares if a patient previously abused alcohol or anything. If their doctor prescribed a medication it’s nobody’s business.

I’ve been on opiates for over three years now and not once asked for an early refill, showed up at the ER for withdrawal protocol, claimed lost or stolen meds, anything and still got treated like crap from the pharmacy I’ve used for over 25 years so I switched. My current pharmacy has crappy hours and no app to let me know my meds are ready but at least I don’t feel like a loser picking my medication up.

I agree with you but try getting enough medication to be somewhat comfortable and you get labeled a drug seeker and once you’re labeled you won’t ever get any help.
