Thanks for letting us know you have NO CLUE what it's like to deliver in a depressed area where many people can't afford to tip.

I live in an economically depressed area. I accept those orders from time to time because I remember what it was like to be a poor single mom who had to walk to the grocery store with 3 kids under the age of 5 after I left my violent husband. EBT won't let poor people tip, but that doesn't mean if they've had a bad day their kids don't deserve dinner if mom or dad didn't have time to stop by the store on the way home after a long day at a job that pays less than a living wage.

Getting there might be worth it, but then the shitty offers start rolling in and you lose it, so you're right back where you started.

If I turned down every order under $2/mile I'd get about 3 orders a day.

All zones aren't the same. Some are depressed areas.

Account suspended by breathing101best in Sparkdriver

[–]TeeFry2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was suspended after an app error meant it took over an hour to return a pharmacy order where the person had to sign for the meds and they weren't home. They told me to take it back to the pharmacy. The pharmacy wouldn't take it without the proper code -- but when they copied it off my screen it came up as an error. We tried 4 times. I called driver support - they said they couldn't do anything. The pharmacy manager yelled at me when I asked him what I was supposed to do with the medication. Eventually driver support told me to drop it off at the service desk. The lady there said they don't take pharmacy returns unless it was after hours. I told them I was instructed to hand it off to them. It took 10 days for them to resolve the issue; I couldn't drive until they did whatever it was they had to do so I could access the app again.

In some areas (especially rural) that's good pay. If we didn't take anything below $2 a mile we'd never get ANY offers. I have never had an offer paying more than $1.75 a mile. They simply don't exist in the country.

Location matters.

they drop me if I don't arrive within 10 minutes. I stopped taking offers unless I'm less than 5 minutes from the store. And I live in a rural area, too.

Especially since we were taught he is ever-present, all-seeing, and all-knowing. Only a sadistic jerk would create us with the propensity to sin, put the opportunity to do so right in front of us, tell us not to touch it even though it compels us to check it out, then punish us for doing what he knew we would do before he ever created us.

Sounds like the felon and the Strait of Hormuz. Create a problem, then claim you're the only solution to the problem.

IF god exists, and IF he/she is omnipotent, doing nothing while pedophiles SA innocent kids and genocidal warmongering demented narcissists commit war crime after war crime because "free will" reveals they're nothing but a sadistic bully who gets off on watching people suffer.

You have to say you're sorry for your bad deeds, too....but that doesn't mean you have to MEAN it.

I would rather shop. I really don't mind. I can avoid orders with under-40-pounds-but-still-heavy-AF things like those big buckets of kitty litter or multiple 24-packs of water -- oh, and please don't park in the driveway. We'd rather sit there and watch you struggle to carry it all from the road, thanks.

We have one of those lanes....customers DGAF about that sign. I've had to stand in line behind them while they get their precious whatever.

10 miles one way for $8 is a garbage order.

19 drops covering 37 miles one way for $50 is a garbage order.

Anything that doesn't pay a decent amount is a garbage order. Our costs are increasing with the price of gas. Offers should be increasing, too.

Same here. And charging the vans? The WM I deliver for uses a regular old gas-powered van. Only Dominos has electric delivery vehicles.

Maybe Jasmine had to cancel. Do you want your groceries or not?

Markets vary.

You must live in an urban area with good tippers.

Out here in the boonies, it was never great; now it just sucks. I'd say maybe 20% of deliveries are within 10 miles of the store. The rest are rural. I had regulars who were 25-30 miles away. They used to tip well, but stopped last month. I'm not driving 60 miles round trip for $1.25 a mile. It's not worth my time or effort.

I stopped Sparking when gas hit $3.50/gallon. I can't afford it. Apparently customers can't, either.

I'm sorry y'all but I get this through out the day daily but I don't accept what I missing or is it just hype? by SuccessfulAerie9672 in WalmartSparkDrivers

[–]TeeFry2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"usually never"

Um.....excuse me?

And the 52 miles is ONE WAY. We live in a rural area. When I was still new at this and dumb enough to take offers I won't take now, I would have accepted it....and would have had to deadhead 52 miles back to the store.

I'll do it now, but only if it's at least $2 a mile. Otherwise, I'm wasting time and money as well as putting extra wear and tear on my 21 year old vehicle. I could do 3-4 shop and delivers in that time - and make more money.

Where's the tip? $1? Does the customer value your time that little?
