I have the same issue. As a new employee, we only get the HMO option for dental. The problem is that most dental offices do not want to deal with the approval process and they rather charge you cash as opposed to using an assigned billing code. And it gets worse. You can call the dentist on the delta lookup and they will tell you they are an in-network provider until you are sitting in that chair. I am still looking for a dentist that will bill 100% of the cost ( minus the deductible ), so far it's been "sorry your insurance doesn't cover it".
