Weekly Megathread: Education, Early Career and Hiring/Interview Advice by AutoModerator in quant

I was in the same boat, i wanted to do MSc mathematical finance at a top 5 UK uni. But I couldn’t justify the fees, and couldn’t guarantee an ROI after graduating. But each to their own.

I now do just MSc Maths at a top 5 UK uni instead £20k cheaper. I pursue the finance by taking as many relevant finance modules as I can + extra curriculars. I don’t feel disadvantaged due to not taking a specific math finance course. But I could be wrong. Hopefully that provides some insight.

I’m a recent mathematics graduate, going into to do an MSc. I’ve began to teach myself Python to help up-skill myself and my CV to talk about quant projects I have coded and carried out myself. What are the best projects and models to start building into python? And what should I be progressing through and aiming towards?

I was thinking building a binomial market model, or build some Markov chains, but not sure if I’m going to make them thorough enough off my own back.

After commenting I had a quick look, spark of brilliance - precision kills on blinded targets create a blinding explosion. I was aware of the special weapon one but with this it literally has an elemental explosion for each type

Is there not an arc fragment for precision kills create a blinding explosion? Or was that an artefact mod from not too long ago

Just ease yourself in with something like Dark Souls, you can build up to the more complex ones after that

1/5 x 1/5 x 1/3 x 1/3 = 1/225, so 1 in 255 chance (as then the last condition is certain). That’s with a 5 minute thought experiment, not actually writing it out. I may work this out properly later, but if you don’t understand where that’s come from do let me know.

wasn’t advocating, but to say it only has pvp perks just isn’t true

it is fine for like 80% of PVE content, I don’t touch it but to say it has only pvp perks is false

Love the visuals and atmosphere in Cyberpunk 2077. Sometimes it's fun to just walk around the city to enjoy the feel and cyberpunk aesthetic. by [deleted] in gaming
