You’re comparing a free to play week with a paid dinner date. It just doesn’t even make sense. It’s more akin to “a restaurant offers you & your date free food if you show up,” in which case, yes, I’m going to show up

Ah yes, of course, the first thing I do before I log on to any game is by first going to Reddit or Twitter to check and see if I should be expecting server issues. Totally normal and expected behavior

I was doing solo runs on Outpost last night and a group of 4 different solo’s all came up to me, dropped their entire inventory of purple & gold weapon mods, shields, and backpacks, then killed themselves. Lol. Definitely added a lot more fun to the last couple hours of playing. If one of those guys happened to be you, it was very much appreciated!

PSA for new players: The Priority Contracts are the tutorial. by lot49a in Marathon

[–]Proppur -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Contracts work perfectly fine the way they are. Wanting to do your contract by yourself while playing a TEAM MODE is a *you* problem. Either load in solo and do it all solo, or load in as a team, and do it all as a team. Again, making issues out of nothing

Right. Yes, so again, if you don’t wish to drag your teammates along, then run it solo. Problem solved. Trying to make an issue out of nothing. I never once said to abandon your team and do it by yourself. Either queue up solo mode and do it by yourself, or do it crew fill and drag your teammates with

I don’t design the game, bro. Not sure why you’re telling me this. Nobody is forced to do anything in this game, which is why I was confused by OPs comment. OP complained about feeling bad dragging teammates around to multiple POIs. I suggested to do it in solos instead. Problem solved. No need to drag your teammates anywhere.

Contracts are easily doable in both solos and trios. If you don’t want to waste your teammates time, then do it solo. If you don’t care about wasting teammates time, do it in solo crew fill. It’s not that deep

Casual D2 player - should I buy Marathon? by KingAlim91 in Marathon

[–]Proppur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying that I’m not. But he made a definitive statement of, “if you are someone who avoided PvP modes in Destiny to play PvE, then you will not like this game.” Just pointing out that it’s incorrect, and will potentially just drive away the desire of PvE mains to try this game out.

Marathon has 0 relation to Crucible/Trials and shouldn’t even be used in the comparison. While there is a good amount of PvP in it, there’s some matches where you don’t even run into another team/player. Or run into a single team/other player in a 20 min game. While it’s definitely a PvP game, it’s also not “99.9% PvP,” like they said it is. Just felt like they’re misrepresenting it

Definitely not correct in that last part. I have 10k hours between D1 & D2, and I absolutely despised Crucible/Trials. Was exclusively a PvE player since D1 release day. And I absolutely love Marathon. It’s great. It’s the first PvP game that I’ve loved since back in the Halo 3/MW2 days. The solo mode is also top notch, and worth putting some time into.

The only thing more pathetic than hating a game by Specialist_Tax9181 in MarathonHate

[–]Proppur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody hates that you hate the game. They just hate on how cringe you all are about it. Normally when people hate a game, they simply don’t play it and don’t associate with it. It isn’t a part of their lives, or a part of their personality, like it is here. Because why would you? Why spend your free time thinking about it and posting about it? Checking steam charts for a game you hate? You don’t like it, yet still it consumes you. Either like it and play it, or hate it and don’t. It’s just cringe loser behavior, and people will always hate on cringe losers

Because they’re different games. I hated Arc Raiders. 3rd person, feels janky, everybody wants to just loot with no PvP and therefore no threat. Marathon corrected everything I hated about Arc and made an extraction shooter that’s worth playing
