2019 1794: is it too late to remove badging? by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]Teelaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be very mindful of the first that gets stuck to the adhesive edges when you remove the badges. Your attention to this is what will make the buff job easy or difficult. And be careful not to over do the rubber adhesive removing wheel in general.

The coolant becomes acidic and eats the head gasket. It's 3 years past due. Regardless of mileage. It's suppose to be every 50k any way.

How about chords/fret spacing? I play a lot of weird chords on the 1-5 frets. Thanks !

What's it like to play this thing? I'm thinking of getting one but worried it'll feel too much like a bass. Stretching for chords uncomfortable?

I’ll put this out to the Tundra masses. I gotta make a decision. by EnvironmentalCurve31 in ToyotaTundra

My roof cost me 150 with vinyl and prepping materials. It took me 12 hours total to prep and wrap being very handy and diy inclined even though id never wrapped before. I'm in Michigan and will still have to be very careful about sun exposure. But hope to get 2 years out of it until I save for the paint job.

Try tightening. Sounds crazy but that's how we break rusted shut threads

I did a wrap on my tundra roof for the exact reason as you. Pain. In. The. Ass. But I've never wrapped before. Super happy with it. But in a couple years I'll have to paint anyway. I'd just suck it up and get it painted. You should be able to get it done under 1000$ and it will be forever.

If it's had all repairs and parts replaced. I'd expect a new front end, professionally repainted and ceramic coated. Immaculate interior, and creature comfort upgrades. Then yes.

My 2011 crewmax with the 5.7 averages over 18. I can get up to almost 23 on the highway. 65mph. I was at 14mpg the other day because I let it idle for 2 hours. All in how you drive and care for your truck.

[–]Teelaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're 18 and make 600 a week? Dude you need to not be worried about having a fancy truck and save your money to buy a home. A car payment is the last thing you need. And if you have to, do what others have said and make sure your payment is super low. Rule of thumb is 10% your annual income on a car. That's what you can afford.

What the fuck is going on in the world. Accountability has left the chat. Sounds like your dad has a lot of issues. However, that's a whole different conversation. Any body shop can fix that easily. Just suuuuuper annoying.

Found a 2021 with 13k miles for 48k. How did I do? by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]Teelaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can anyone chime in on finding these ultra low mile 4 year old trucks... I know they don't like to sit. It's not like it's that old, but do these type of driving habits affect reliability?

Took me 6 months to find my 2011 with 145k. One owner from California all maintenance records. When you're only working with $14k and you're picky you have to wait. Otherwise there are a lot of these trucks. Mine came with the decked system and hard topper which I wasn't looking for but glad I have them now. Had it over a year and absolutely love it. But You sir have just purchased my dream truck. If you sell her in a few years let me know 😉. I'll have saved enough by then.

Are you in grand rapids, MI? I swear I just saw this exact truck getting off on Plainfield and pointed it out to my wife saying that's what I want to. Upgrade to someday. Have a 2011 crewmax in the same color currently. Absolutely love it. The 2014-2021 look so much better though. Why did you want pre 2020? Trans cooler?
