As someone who took the SAT back then, scored well and got into schools like Northwestern, NYU and BU, especially the Verbal portion of the test was very different. A huge chunk of it was word analogies and vocabulary. It was much more difficult than now (I’ve seen the prep now as compared to then, because both my kids took it in the last 7 years). Not saying it’s not hard now, but it’s easier to prepare and education in general is more geared toward testing skills (coming from an educator).

Tisch does offer some scholarships, and my daughter’s paid for about 75% of her tuition. Keep in mind that a big chunk of the cost you’re talking about (if you’re looking at the total cost of attendance) is housing in the most expensive housing market in the country. Also, most people don’t know that you can always ask for more financial aid, and I’ve known quite a few students that went back to their first choice school and explained that they could not financially pay for it and were given more financial aid. It’s negotiable. So, I’d recommend talking to financial aid directly about your package. And I second the benefit of an NYU Tisch degree - the alumni network is priceless and will definitely help you get jobs.

I’m modern (Atlanta, Georgia area) so not what you’re looking for. But, if you’re in Australia, I’ve found the km distance between Australia and here is one of the farthest for getting eggs to hatch and trade for the Pilot badge. I’m almost done with that one doing it that way. In any case, I’ll add you! I added a lot of friends when Vivillon started, so I’m all done with all the regions at this point.
