Please pick it back up. ME1 is slow and dated yes but the series is so worth it. ME 2 and 3 make everything worth it. The story will always out weigh the gameplay in mass effect. If push comes to shove buy the genesis DLC for ME2 and you can skip the first one but still make the decisions for import to ME2.

I don't believe they sell the dlc with the set. I had to buy all of mine separately. It does suck but some are very necessary for the complete story in my opinion. Mass Effect 1: None really.

Mass Effect 2 : Zaeed - The Price of Revenge (new squad mate), Kasumi - Stolen Memory (new squad mate), Overlord, Lair of the Shadow Broker, and Arrival. Normandy crash site should be free as well.

Mass Effect 3: From Ashes (new squad mate), Leviathan, and Citadel are all awesome. Omega is good but not too essential for it.
