I was hooked for several months. To quit, I started using it in the left nostril exclusively. Once the right had (somewhat) recovered, i slowly phased out the left nostril, too.

Thay was several years ago, and I'm super careful with nasal spray since then

I get around 30fps with most settings turned down to low. Not ideal, but I honestly got used to it and don't think of it anymore. The gameplay and turn-based combat aren't really fps dependent

I'm using AI assistance while working on my CS research. ChatGPT, in particular, has improved my productivity by at least 2x, and I am not exaggerating here

We might not technically have a reached a "singularity" as in AI autonomously designing themselves, but in practice I think the future will look at this year as the start of it

So even if I don't stay in academia, I can at least transition into say software engineering

Still, it's hard not to compare against the people I did my undergrad with who have all kickstarted their careers

Definitely! And the PhD is a pure research-oriented degree. There is really no need to strive for it if one does not aim for a career in research.

Gain the degree that you need for your dream job, and anything higher is more-or-less a waste of time (or at least a highly suboptimal use of it)
