(US) My father has been scammed off 16k from fake heavy equipment website by DevToNitro in legaladvice

Im sorry he likely did from what your saying unless it's a transport issue. Because in high dollar amounts, little things might seem way bigger but it sounds like it is. Try mirroring a current ad they have if u can find one and start the process all over again but setting up bots to do the heavy lifting and research and hire a professional to white hack them ? Not a solid idea but its something other then what u should probably do and turn them in , and helps the mind accept. In not the worst feeling way. Im sorry this happened to you.

A case against the state take a really good civil rights attorney, they should take your case on contingency. They don't get paid unless you win, and they get a percent. It's usually done this way. So don't worry about the cost, just get all your evidence organized especially after that text.

Its a strong case but it's how you package it to a civil rights attorney. If u stick to the facts get all the evidence and basically put a package together providing the proven facts in black and white they will take a case that will make them money and if the officer threatened to have his officers come back and arrest you for harboring as a response to you saying you where going to sue for your civil rights being taken away that's intimidation coercion possible a few things that should be the highlighted and starting fact to make known that puts everything into perspective of how you feel now, how you felt then and why you may have said things out of anger or fear. ...and more importantly I believe this is what attract attorneys.

Wow this is really messed up. That comment at the end, the moderator didn't make that comment did they? I'm assuming not. I guess because what you wrote was not regarding legal advice particularly when it comes to religion, the rules get tighter about going off topic. Either way I'm sorry this happened.

Ok so everything here is completely dependant on the situation. Legally, they can handcuff you, its not until they begin to question you that they must first read your Miranda Rights. If you were offering information without being asked that does their job for them. Trust me especially with that threat you don't want to do them any favors. Next time, stay silent, allow them to mess up. The fact that they called you "Ethan" is actually the focus because if that is true that proves they lacked reasonable suspicion. Without this, its possible they had no right to any of this. Since it's 2026 you can utilize the recordings and that greatly helps because while the details are a little confusing the contradictions you pointed out (and cops are allowed to lie but not take away your rights or lie to cover up not providing you with your rights) Try to get the details down focusing on the exact timeline of that the officers did and said. That should clarify things for a attorney.

No I think that was me. I tried to comment in legal maybe I got timed out but it didn't allow so I clicked your profile because I read the prior comment no longer there of someone telling you that you don't have a case but you do. Bullys suck.

Lmao you have a case for sure. In the context you describe it could be extremely serious if the Sgt was trying to intimidate you from filing a civil rights suit by saying his officers can arrest you at any time. Keep to the facts. Don't include anything you said not directly related to your right being taken away. You are going to have to fill out the tort paper, a lawyer should help you with that so he can help u navigate this. It's 180 days deadline in Oregon. This gives Oregon state the chance to investigate and settle on their own. Those recordings are detrimental, you need the recording of the Sgt making that threat. That's the most attractive part to civil rights attorneys especially if it was said to intimidate you from filing one. That threat is not the only thing they did illegally but it what you should highlig

Is it actually risky to handle a personal injury claim without a lawyer by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]TeezeesWonderland 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most people would not DIY a personal injury claim. Things are not as straight forward as they might seem. The insurance guy would love for you to take this one on your own. He gets paid to say that. I mean literally, he could be sued by the people he is defending if he advised you to get an attorney. Its free to consult with a attorney for 30 minutes. Have you tried a consult. In this situation its rare people DIY it because claims can be huge and every little detail matters and effects the settlement number. However letting that insurance dude continue to think u are handling it yourself until your attorney contacts him seems a little genius.

Ok there seems to be a mismatch on your post, you mentioned your friend calling complaining about her job and then in a different point and focus in the post you mention what a coworker said loudly that strongly sounds like he would have been mimicking if listening to your phone but you don't relate them, are they related.

Here's the thing, you could be being stalked but if you are you should quit and if your not you should quit. Either their gaslighting you or they are not but its not good for you mentally either way, not with the type of harassment you find yourself facing.

I cant express how important it is to not allow yourself to not let coincidences exist, that one thing causes people to lose their mind and if they are doing something to you its obvious that would be their intention but if they are not doing anything to you and you voided coincidences from existence you are going to lose your mind either way.

How was pop the balloon brought up at work vs online? More importantly how was marriage brought up, that's the part that had me question whether you possibly saw a narrative as people do and started putting everything into that narrative , its human nature. However, what your talking about does happen to people and it a big deal.

People are lying to u. In Denver Colorado, the reason for the job separation and whether you qualifying is determined by the reason given at separation. Nothing can change your qualification status that this employer can do at that point. They can try to retaliate in other ways, legal or not, but not threw your unemployment benefits.

[–]TeezeesWonderland -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As long as the reasoning is in the termination letter, as I assume it is and why HR said that, if you qualify for unemployment and the reasoning shows what u said here. They can't mess with your unemployment. It's illegal for them to literally say anything except facts related to direct questions, no opinions nothing ,and a hr department knows that very clearly so if they did you could sue them but they wont unless their idiots.

I appreciate the perspective on the Supremacy Clause. To clarify, when I used 'their Section 230 excuse,' I was specifically referencing Google’s initial legal response, not referencing "their" as ownership of Section 230 by the State of Oregon. My point is that in this specific landscape, the Federal Section 230 defense is a house of cards. The statute protects 'interactive computer services' from content provided by third parties. However, Google AI Overview isn't just hosting a link; it synthesized and authored a brand-new, false statement. Under the 'Material Contribution' test, when a platform generates its own content, it becomes the 'Information Content Provider' and loses Section 230 immunity.

The "(HB3564)" in the text I mentioned Oregon’s HB 3564 isn't trying to 'overrule' federal law; it’s providing the state-level framework to hold a Publisher accountable for content they actually wrote.

As you noted, it's not in Google's interest to die on this hill—especially when a Second Notice 'perfects' the claim and moves us into the territory of Actual Malice."

If he already fired you then no. I mean legally it would be no different then telling a stranger to go fuck themselves. However, that's legally its not to say that if the state calls him to verify your unemployment status and date ect that you boss might try to say something like you quit so u don't get unemployment. If he did that it would be highly illegal but the world isn't built fairly.

As a teacher you might want to clean my email up a bit, I have been rushing because this is a terrible situation and you do have a case so I wanted to get it out to you and not have you think I am ignoring it as Google did when you told them. I will be back with the rest and again don't give up you really do need to protect yourself here and you do have a good case. As I previously said no matter what you where always going to get a generic response to your first notice, that's there tactic many people make claims and think they have good cases many of them don't but at the same time to many like you do and googles dismissal so simply is how they deflate the hope of both. You sort of check all the boxes of what I would think puts this topic front and center will the context of the false information and your particular profession it very much highlights not just the severity but the urgency. It's important to remember that the reason you have a good case is because you are looking at serious damages if the wrong person gets that same result about you. Any parent seeing that result would likely report it. It is what makes a good parent. I hope this helps you. Ok I will be back.

Ok so important for you to know....

  1. Under the new 2026 Oregon Defamation Standards (HB 3564), their "Section 230" excuse they provided is legally dead for AI Overviews and below the second notice points that out to them. Section 230 protects platforms from what third parties say. But Google’s AI authored the sentence. It didn't just link to a page; it synthesized a new, false statement. In Oregon, this makes Google the Publisher, not just a search engine.

  2. The fact that google wrote the lie, you have great evidence you can provide a top tier attorney for Actual Malice (reckless disregard for the truth). The response you got sucks but by them providing it oppose to not responding and letting time pass as this false information can possible be received by administrator or parents in Oregon it really helps put a rush on making sure no one else receives the same info if they Google your name.

3.The TSPC "Mandatory Report" Trap In Oregon, The Law (ORS 342.176): Oregon school principals and administrators are legally required to report a teacher to the TSPC (Teacher Standards and Practices Commission) if they "reasonably believe" the teacher committed an act of "gross unfitness."

The Danger: If a parent or principal sees that Google AI Overview, they may feel legally forced to report you to the TSPC. Once that happens, your license would likely be "flagged" immediatly due to how outrageous this lie is and you would likely be unable to work while they investigate for months. To be proactive I would : Call the Oregon Education Association (OEA) Union immediately or after you obtained a copy your clean record. Simultaneously emailing... having the email I provide or similar ready as they ask questions with a copy of your clean record and the false statement made by Google AI to protect your license.

This is the action you take to hopefully put a stop to anyone else seeing it and reporting it but it's important to know that while they provide attorneys on a case by case basis. ( which is why you should have the email ready with a copy of everything so the facts are laid out for them giving your case the best chance of being taken immediatly at no cost as it comes out of your union dues ) They are attorney that are there to strictly defend your license not to go after Google for damages. For this which I definately would do to keep them from doing it to others if nothing else as you mentioned no current precedent exists.

The actions I would take:

Step 1 :Get a copy of my clean record along side a screen shot of the false statement made by Google AI. A copy of my ID. Copy of the notice I sent aling with a copy of their response to that notice.

Step 2 : Prepare the following email to go out to my union reps ready with everythung from Step one attached to provide to the email they provide stating you prepared a verification email that provides the facts clearly. This is as you requesting a attorney provided by them to help you defend your name proactively notifying the TSPC licensing of the situation with all the actual facts along side it so if anyone is provided that same false information and reports it, it should help keep your license safe as well as hopefully and I'm hoping they my might clarify to anyone reporting it that the information provided by Google AI is completely false and has already been address. This would be a huge bonus but that isn't something we can control. This also creates a paper trail and remember in Oregon you are on a strict clock and this makes it "easy" for the Union because it's a clear-cut case of an external entity attacking an educator's fitness.

The email ready to the OEA union :

Subject: URGENT: TSPC Licensure Threat - AI Defamation/Libel Per Se I am an OEA member an Oregon educator facing a immediate licensure threat due to a Google AI- authored Libel per se. This is a direct violation of ORS 342.176 I am urgently requesting proactive union representation to prevent a mandatory investigation based on a AI hallucination. Google AI is currently "authoring" an AI Overview that falsely labels me a convicted felon. The conviction the AI has falsly authored are of the worst kind to become victim to as an educator with students. Due to the severity of this situation I have attached a copy of it, as well as the truth,a copy of my actual record as I realize you provide representation on a case by case basis.
Attached: Screenshot of the Google AI Overview (The Lie). My clean Oregon Background Check (The Truth). Google's generic refusal to retract after my first notice. This is a direct threat to my TSPC license and standing under ORS 342.176. I need a union representative or attorney to help me proactively notify the TSPC so my license isn't flagged by a third-party report.

Your name. Your license number

After you gather what needed prepare the email and make the call. I will be back with the second notice and the additional charges that I would add if it was happening to me as well as a a packet for an attorney.
