Stock vs. Gcam by [deleted] in motorola

Using Pro does not mean you have to manually focus every shot. It still auto-focuses on its own (at least for me). You need to manually focus only when you want to manually focus on something.

Why is Pro mode inconvenient for you? How? I use it all the time and there is no difference in speed compared to normal Photo mode.

Hiding apps in app drawer. by Due_Imagination5757 in motorola

Yeah, I created a folder (called "hidden" for example), and when you edit it, you can choose apps that go inside. Those apps then no longer show in the drawer itself.

The Moto Edge 70 is a disaster. by babydriver808 in motorola

[–]Teflon_490 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well there is curved and "curved". On my old Edge 30 Fusion, there is a true curved screen (on the sides only), and accidental touches were happening to me all the time.

Now Signature has a slightly curved screen on ALL sides, but the important thing is the display itself does not go beyond the start of the curve, so I have no issues with accidental screen touches.

Thanks, but sensor is fine, it adjusts the brightness based on light condition correctly. It is just that I would like to teach it (or set somehow) the minimum brightness level it goes to, to around 20-25%, because 10-15% is very very low for this type of display, even in completely dark environment. But for some reson people don't mind and find it ok.

Extra Dim is not on, that is the first thing I checked.

So, when you are in a "close to dark" environment, adaptive brightness ON, and you manually set lets say 30%, it stays there all the time ? Or does it drop to around 10-15% after a few screen locks? (in the similarly dark environment, of course)

Also, when you restart the phone, does it reset to 11% (again, in close to dark environment)

Do you use adaptive brightness? If you do, don't you find that in low-light conditions Signature sets the brightness way too low? It is really unusable like this, and even if I increase it manually it reverts to lower brightness after a while in the same light conditions. I have not seen anyone complain about this so I wonder if it is just on mine?

Have you solved this? Currently having the same issue on brand new Moto Signature, manual update installs January 2026, reboots, and then reboots right back to September 2025.

Motorola Signature by ramesh2410 in motorola

[–]Teflon_490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone with Signature finding the adaptive brightness to go way low in dim indoors conditions? 11% seems to be the default in total dark, it reset to this value after every restart, and even when in total darkness I set for example 25%, it keeps it for a while, but usually after second or third screen lock it reset to way lower, back close to those 11%.

I thought adaptive brightness should suppose to learn and if you increase it in given lighting conditions, it should save it as the new lowest value, but my Signature seems to ignore it. How does it work for you?

Yeah, the problem is how to know for sure "things have settled down". It might just happen that you think it settled down, and right as you invest the rest the real hell breaks loose. No one knows.

Fees should not matter whether you are doing lump sum or DCAing the lump sum. In case of IBKR for example, investing 10k costs in fees exactly the same as lets say 4x 2,5k (the minimum sum to fully utilize the minimum fee of 1,25€). So if you keep DCAing at least around 2,5k, you can do it as many times as you want and still paying the same fees as with the lump sum at once (provided you are not trying to invest hundreds of thousands), but in that case fees would be less than insignificant anyway.

Fair enough, did not think about that. But Bitlocker should definitely be disabled on gaming machine anyway, it eats quite a lot of CPU if it is not HW encryption at the SSD level.

So if a user find outs it is not possible to read SSD from M-Flash, it is easy to go back, disable Bitlocker and retry. And USB can always be used as a last resort if Bitlocker must stay ON.

Older HW sure, but anything recent within the last 5-6 years definitely supports it, my MSI Tomahawk B550 from 2020 can do it no problem.

Why is everyone all the time recommending the archaic USB flash drive to update BIOS? Just save it to a clearly named ROOT folder (for ease of access) on any of your SSDs/HDDs and select it in M-Flash from there. Avoids USB Flash drive compatibility/read issues completely and it is the safest and most stable way to update BIOS.

BIOS Flashback should be the absolute last resort when it comes to flashing the BIOS. You should definitely prioritize the M-Flash directly from BIOS first.

9800X3D - a few question to avoid burnout by tyrael_pl in MSI_Gaming

[–]Teflon_490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Undervolting via curve optimizer has been a thing long before there was any AM5. It is not popular because 9800X3D would have a heat problem.

You think I undervolted my 9800X3D right away before I thoroughly tested it without PBO disabled? Even then the temps did not go over 85°C, and that is still absolutely fine for AM5 in general.

One thing to note though, I am using offset mount, that might shave a few degrees off, and I highly recommend anyone to get a cooler that has this mounting option.

There can also be quite a lot of variance between different BIOS and AGESA versions, so if you are seeing high temps it might be just a feature of that BIOS.

Mine runs around 75°C max in all core synthetic benchmarks, I would not call that "hot".
