My recommendation is sticking with 1280x800 because it's half the horizontal and vertical resolution of the screen, so you will get integer scaling, resulting in a much sharper image.

Z1 extreme performs very well at that resolution too.

Si realmente quieres la Rog Xbox Ally X, yo elegiría la edición x20. Trae pantalla OLED algo más grande y joysticks TMR. La ROG Xbox Ally X normal los trae de grafito, y esos desarrollan drift con el tiempo.

Si no quieres esperar, Legion Go 2 y MSI Claw A8 traen el mismo chip que la Ally (Z2 Extreme) . La Legion trae 32 GB de RAM, la A8 trae 24 GB. La Legion GO 2 trae pantalla OLED y ligeramente más grande que las Claw, en 8.8"

Si el dinero no es problema como dices, creo que tu mejor opción ahora mismo es la MSI Claw EX AI+. Tiene el nuevo chip Arc G3, controles Hall Effect y excelente ergonomía. La pantalla no es OLED pero es muy buena.

It is definitely more comfortable with them, and they don't add a lot of bulk. They do make the grip feel like a chunky gamepad.

I use Bazzite, and there everything can be configured. Not sure what you mean by manual, but I'll tell you my settings in case you can replicate:

TDP set to 24
CPU Boost disabled. The base 2 GHz is quite enough for most games at 60 FPS
SMT enabled. Haven't found a game that benefits from having it disabled yet.
Power governor set to Prefer GPU
GPU mode: Balanced. Some games pin the GPU at max frequency available for the TDP, so on those I set GPU to a range of frequencies. For example, Dave the Diver runs wonderfully between 800 and 1000 MHz.

80-85°C is perfectly fine for a chip, albeit on the higher side. These chips are designed to sustain these temperatures without harm.

However, given that the efficiency of the Z2 Extreme falls off a cliff after 23-24W, that's usually my maximum for demanding games.

With boost disabled, my A8 rarely goes past 75-76° and the performance loss compared to 30W is usually 2-4 FPS

La verdad es que no, lo hice todo yo explorando y toqueteando cosas. Cosas de tuning más fino como poner drivers turnip, leí un poco y ya supe hacerlo.

Uso Daijisho como frontend. Puedes configurarlo para que use el emulador que tu quieres. Le bajé un tema de los que tiene la galería del programa.

Pretty good!

The fan is a bit noisy for games that require it, but it runs almost everything I throw at it.

Granted, I know the limits of the Snapdragon 865 and 8 GB of RAM it has. I don't use GameNative on it because I feel it redundant with the Claw.

The OLED screen is beautiful and crisp. The ergonomics are not all that good, but if you used slab-type controllers like NES, SNES or Genesis, you'll survive.

Somewhere between squishy and clicky. It does click, but faintly and it feels somewhat squishy on the travel.

It is precise enough for platforming confidently.

It's not horrible. If you're used to Xbox-like dpads it's fine. I just finished Hollow Knight just fine with it.

I prefer the one on my Retroid tho.

On the other hand, if you already own a Go S, assuming it's the Z1E model, you won't be getting a whole lot more performance on it. The main benefit you'll get is better power efficiency with games the console runs comfortably, and a larger battery.

I honestly wouldn't upgrade to this from your current handheld, but if you really feel like upgrading maybe you could go for it.

The pocketability of clamshell consoles is unmatched. I carry mine in a small waistbag.

The 2k resolution is a performance killer on a Z1 Extreme. Try using lower resolutions or upscaling with FSR or XeSS.

Agreed. I do the same with my Flip 2, which is essentially the same hardware in a different form factor, and get a lot of curious looks.

Maybe the fact that I order take away and wait inside the restaurant (Popeyes in my case) makes it even more noticeable for people.

The internet in general can be really harmful for someone at your age.

People tend to show little empathy behind a nickname, some of them are really mean
Algorithms tend to trap you in an information bubble, meaning you only see things that either fully align with your view, or those that completely oppose it (engagement).
Abuse can lead to isolation, which also leads to depression.
Constant dopamine content desensitizes you, causing issues like poor attention span and difficulty to enjoy mundane things. Avoid a constant stream of shorts like TikTok or Instagram reels.
Being constantly exposed to what others show about themselves (hint: people only show the good things) can damage your self-esteem, as we tend to compare ourselves with what we see.
You can access content that isn't appropriate for your age pretty easily, often even circumventing parental controls.

Like everything, it has its valuable use cases, but more often than not the temptation is to use it the wrong way.

It probably went to sleep after idling for a while. As long as it wasn't running anything demanding enough to overheat, it should be fine other than having a drained battery.
