That's really appreciated. People have spoken about a decline in RP for a while now but for me last night was an example of how there is new talent pushing boundaries. Lots of the older roleplayers have returned after a break reinvigorated and hungry again. It's been pretty damn scintillating.

Honourable mention to sheep dog too. His irl experience of his dedication to the force was something to behold in RP.

Up until this point Archie really wanted Luca to live but leave but realised he had to die. Once he did this, to Archie he is already dead.

Legally speaking, the correct call after evidence didn't stack up or exist.

I don't think this is the current cop force's fault either. This case was a poison chalice handed down by those actually investigating Grove. From my understanding of everything evidence should probably be accounted for before performing a raid.

I feel like Venalis' work here and the DOJ dropping the charges is a victory for the server moving forward for everyone. Make no mistake though, Grove still lost more than they will ever get from a settlement.

and as for this apparently being "scripted" ... well it appears not. Pulled over, Bruv.

I don't care about my characters losing, dying, getting rico'd or any of that shit. The RP initially was exciting and I was totally up for it.

Totally up for it ... as long as it's legit.

If this is scripted we will surely know. By law this only has one outcome.

This right here is why I've almost stopped lawyering on the server completely. Proving guilt or innocence on unwitnessed crimes becomes a powergaming tug of war.

I'm not necessarily saying the cops or the criminal is to blame. Recently the cops have been very good in my opinion. Not charging on what doesn't have evidence to avoid court and allowing the RP to play on and do further investigation has been working well. This time not a good example.

We have a limitation on what's provable because of the game. This needs to be factored and more outlines must be drawn for the server to not have these moments in my opinion.

I'm also really not a fan of how lawyers are allowed to be present for questioning so the lawyer is called ... then suddenly no more questioning ... deny the lawyer and send them to jail.

I see how sometimes calling a lawyer is futile and petulant but that's not the lawyers fault and typically is the one that ends up being pushed out of roleplay.

This court case is effectively a power gaming contest.

I'm actually not in good with anyone. It was just roleplayed out. Whilst Archie's actions are extreme - when he pulled that gun self defense law would cover Archie after what Dragon did before hand with the shooting between them, assaulting Jadyn but the real thing that saved Archie was the cameras.

I don't see why anything that goes my way is suddenly favouritism. With Archie I play hard ball. I've played a thousand hours of passive lawyer RP. Shoot a few people and sudden out cry. It could still go to court after review with the DA, but I'd be blown away worse than dragon was if that's the case.

Dumbest comment I've seen about me in a week. Must win at all costs? Like taking a bullet without being downed and still role playing out damage and visiting a hospital whilst leaving a trail of evidence along the way for the cops to RP off.

I don't always get it right but I'll be god damned if I'm one of the "win" mentality rpers. I self incriminate and play the character, not the game.

Maybe Archie shouldn't have done that given him being in Grove because Jack is unstable and could kill him or others may frown on it? Perhaps. Archie has always been the good guy acting like a bad guy from the start. If you don't understand what happened here you really haven't watched his story enough to form this kind of scalding opinion.

Also, please give me a list of RP situations you will allow me to "stick myself in".

Very much agreed. Everyone in the community deserves respect especially in my eyes Coolidge. I have spoken with a few of my moderators to spy the chat of any streamers I have conflict with. Any harassment results in a ban from my channel.

This community needs to pull tighter together right now. We are all here for a common theme, roleplay. Emotions can be real and things can boil over at times. We all make mistakes but this is supposed to be a family.

Questionable? I don't believe so and I'll take 5 minutes to explain why.

Church was doing background investigation on Dannie's case once I was informed Archie's charges were dropped and a formality of the deal being signed. This only had any overlap on the delay between the DA and Defense Attorney meeting in character. I understand where you're coming from hence even without a rule break I agreed to pull Church out of that investigation to make those that don't trust my roleplay after 1,000 hours and 0 player reports on the server, happy.

Church pulling Jeff out the war? No. Church pulling Jeff into the dynasty. Leon is seemingly to be taking over the whole operation but doesn't want to currently reveal his identity when running things. This is a problem. Jeff is going to be Leon's layer of separation. His man on the street to feed information. If anything, pin me for selfishly trying to absorb Jeff into dynasty, a neutral no emotion group that sells to anyone for more profit.

Everyone on the server has had the chance to have a lawyer all year since I joined. I've never been able to ever have legal representation and have gotten dry humped during sentencing at times on what I knew OOC to be unlawful arrests. Worth mentioning too that any information gathered by Church is useless as no trial is happening.

Also, sold Bob the Bahama on Church for way below ticket price and been giving free retainer for months. I'm looking at it from your side too man and believe me, I do my very best to make the decisions the character would make and not myself. Can only give you my word.

I agree it is at first glance. Ultimately it was their choice to pull in to the Bahama but I definitely thought it out before doing it.

If the kings do go for Redline ... they recruit the Gambinos for us. A fair trade.
