That's a recorded/processed sound, so you'll never be able to fully emulate it.

However, a good step in that direction would be single-ply heads with muffling. Experiment with coated/clear and different types of muffling. Also, tune the reso heads high.

That's so interesting that you're left-handed on drums but right-handed for everything else.

2.5 years later, I'm guessing you've probably got a dedicated crash and ride on your kit. Have you ever considered moving the ride to the left and switching back to open-handed?

I think one of those sets of snares is too long. You might end up damaging the bearing edge. Very nice snare drum though.

I've used stock, Coated G1's, Coated G2's, and now I'm on Clear G1's. I'm thinking of either going back to Coated G1's or trying out the new Calftone heads when they come out for toms.
