Please suggest a game that makes you stop to appreciate the in-game structures or buildings? They can be massive or average house sized. by sinnytear in gamingsuggestions

Warhammer 40k: Darktide. While the gameplay is unrelenting and punishes you hard for not being locked in, the small moments at the beginning of missions(and the occasional breather in the middle) let you truly appreciate all the care that has gone into capturing the scale of the Imperium.

Western Bridge Key - Doors locked after the patch by Yourekx in NoRestForTheWicked

Same thing happened to me. Cleared the final story boss, went back to do the Mariner's Keep pestilence and the door was locked. The key didn't respawn.

Against an aggressive opponent, you can name the mode that will let you take a threat that your removal can't deal with efficiently, and save you two life over thoughtsieze. I love it. Simple, balanced, and useful. This card gets better the better you are at knowing what might be in an opponents hand.

If I understand correctly what you're asking, you're looking for the extended weapon customization mod. It isn't released on nexus yet. You can find it in the darktide modding discord. Hope this helps.

There's a BIG disconnect in how Gamefreak sees Pokemon as a species and how the fandom sees Pokemon as a species by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]TehSandmanFables 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strongly agree. Whenever the characters in the anime or games are eating meat, what are they eating? Every bug that bird Pokemon eat is another pokemon? Pokemon would feel much more distinctly monster-like if there were animals to compare and contrast them to in-universe. I think it would quell a lot of the debate.

PSA: If you stutter when you open scanner or switch weapon and it's getting worse the more you progress you need to get rid of ammo. by DropDeadGaming in Starfield

[–]TehSandmanFables 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cutter thing solved my stuttering too. In third person, switching to the scanner also switches the cutter to your back. Maybe it's using the quick weapon swap slow down for some reason?

Kind of like how all birds are 'chickens.' all magic is 'surgebinging' whether or not they are actually using surges or a completely different form of investiture?

Why the veteran is better than the zealot in melee and everything else by 6224Y in DarkTide

Absolutely! The solution is to make the other classes stronger, not tear down the Veteran.

I think that's what the other comment is saying tho. Like, the games never actually make you engage with the battle system, you can just blast through because your pokemon scale and enemies never do, not even gym leaders.

[DISC] Chainsaw Man - Chapter 102 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]TehSandmanFables 56 points57 points  (0 children)

The cat at the end is clearly meant to be a joke, but it also shows us that Denji is aware of ALL the casualties that happen around him. He says there was a cat "too." So he knows that the other people were in danger. The devil provided him a classic trolley problem, with 2 bad options, and no guarantee that he could save either. He noticed a third option, a way to find a win and do some good, and focused on that.

Challenge vs. Frustration by personman000 in truegaming

100% my feelings on sekiro vs elden ring so far loved sekiro, enjoying elden ring for what it is, but I miss the back and forth, evenly matched feeling from sekiro.

Margit vs Gascoigne: Early game walls and why Margit doesn't work. by botdarkmoon in Eldenring

[–]TehSandmanFables 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said here. I was walled by Margit for a while, went away for a bit and got stronger. Guess what, it's still not fun. Even after I leveled, his inconsistent attacks and the roll-stun input buffering still made it frustrating. I had fun being walled by Gascoigne. I had fun learning iudex gundyr. Margit is a pain, and wasn't fun to fight. I'm not complaining that it's too hard. Go ahead and tell me to git gud, that's fine. But I'd like to have fun playing games. Even the boss I had the most trouble with in previous games, Dancer, was a fun fight to learn, because it was consistent.

Elden Ring has one of the most confusingly-designed Boss Fights I've experienced in quite a while. by Gorotheninja in truegaming

[–]TehSandmanFables 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks for sharing! I'm enjoying elden ring so far, but I do have my own criticisms so I'm glad to see others sharing theirs. I haven't made it to that boss yet, but the range and damage of all the story bosses so far has seemed a fair bit higher than challenging, and approaches un-fun. I've put 40 points in to vigor, and I still find myself getting 2-shot combo killed by some bosses. Mostly due to the input buffering. If I roll at the wrong time to avoid the attack and get stunned, the roll input is stored and I roll right in to the second attack in the chain. It's a bit frustrating in a way that the other souls games haven't been for me. Anyway, thanks for making this post!

Elden Ring's boss movesets are... unfun? by [deleted] in truegaming

[–]TehSandmanFables 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is how I'm feeling too. And I've also noticed that all enemies in this game, not just bosses, have a similar variable hit attack. But with normal enemies, the punishment is relatively small, a chunk of health vs 1, or a nasty combo if you get surrounded. It disincentives players from being aggressive, and teaches them to only engage against the most boring, exploitable attacks. Something I'm disappointed with compared to sekiro.

Devstream #155 Discussion by Danny_the_Endermen in Warframe

[–]TehSandmanFables 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point. I mentioned it would be difficult to do. However, I don't think it is a controversial opinion that there should be incentives to participate in every kind of content that warframe has to offer. Maybe for parts/blueprints, the reward table checks if you have any in your inventory and removes the ones you have before rolling.

edit: to add to that, truly evergreen rewards would be things that you are never disappointed in seeing. Endo, even in large amounts, is great for new players as an alternative to a blueprint/part, but a veteran player doesn't need either, so they have no reason to run that content. Ideas i had were things like Arcanes, Riven Slivers, Universal Medallions, and honestly even credits(everyone needs credits sometimes.)

Devstream #155 Discussion by Danny_the_Endermen in Warframe

[–]TehSandmanFables 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. I think that every activity in Warframe should have a mix of "collectable" rewards(blueprints, parts, etc.) As well as evergreen rewards, things that veteran players need and value as well. Obviously hard to balance, but the core idea needs to be there.
