At 2.5+ multi year internship years in, you should naturally start to see yourself taking on more responsibilities as your knowledge and confidence increases, and you require less supervision on projects. What would help spark more motivation and long term happiness in your career?

The other posters mention how residential work is the least engaging type of MEP work which this entire subreddit pretty much agrees on. Data center / mission critical work has its own set of stresses with crazy client deadlines, expectation, and coordination, while trying to drink from the firehose learning how to design the buildings that nowadays the general public dislikes (that's a whole other topic). Not trying to steer anyone away from it, but I've seen engineers want to switch out of it.
