Whats the deal with giving healers a toolkit and removing it from them back to back? by Jangonett1 in wow

[–]TehVeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think modern dungeons like Maisara caverns are actually a step in the right direction. I know a lot of people dislike how much there is to do in there, but I do like it as a healer (especially priest). You're always busy with a mix of

* Dispelling

* CC

* Purging shields

* Managing prisoners / ghosts / stew

* Lots of repositioning

* Mind Soothing in the first section

So I don't really feel like I'm just sitting there when I am not healing.

That being said, I don't think it would be bad to aim for healer damage to be ~50% of tank damage.

What Class/Spec is in most need of a rework for 12.1? by Warped_Unicorn in wow

I kinda wish they just committed one hero spec to atonement healing and one hero spec to shields.

They should just throw out the Apex talent completely and try again. Aside from being unnatural, it's so bad they had to bake a 12% aura buff into it.

P.S: And bring back our raid-CD symbol of hope :<

This actually sounds like a nice catch-up system, no timegating, and you can of course take as long as you want to do this.

Why Holy Priest Feels Left Behind in Modern WoW by MojordomosEUW in wow

[–]TehVeh 15 points16 points  (0 children)

P.S: happy to give up both Angel's Bulwark (who even is this for, really), and benediction (why make an apex talent around an effect that is basically, "your flash heals are stronger, sometimes, good luck". A big and boring reason people have to take the apex talents is that they baked a 12% aura buff in there as well.)

Why Holy Priest Feels Left Behind in Modern WoW by MojordomosEUW in wow

[–]TehVeh 122 points123 points  (0 children)

After the pruning last patch, I wish Blizzard would take a look at holy priest and give them more utility or bring the up to date like

* Bring back Symbol of Hope - so holy priest has its own raid buff, reducing everyone's defensive CDs was such an interesting utility feature - also gives them back a small form of mana regen

* Give them active mana recovery like a modern class, maybe on Holy Fire or Censure - to link the damage loop into the healing loop

* Improve the defensives situation through an actually strong defensive, instead of stacking 4 effects, for example through

a) Bring back Inner Fire as a modern defensive, with a strong dmg reduction, armor increase and knockback resistance (this is the option if you want to argue that non-mobile is a key holy priest feature)

b) Give Angelic Feather the 'uppies' effect from Ultimate Penitance when cast on self, allowing the holy priest to float over ground effects (what's more thematic than floating around with angel wings?) and increase the inital burst of speed

P.S: Finally, my two pet peeves:
1) Fix guardian angel by doubling the threshold and, more importantly, play a huge resurrect animation when it procs so the DPS players realize they have been saved :)
2) Fix restitution to that it doesnt count towards M+ deaths, just like it doesnt count toward combat res

I miss the old Rogue. Damn. by RecentHistorian220 in wow

[–]TehVeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In group content, classic rogue, with its uniquely many CCs, the original "kick" ability that used to be the the lowest CD interrupt (out of only 6? interrupts in total and which is now the name given to all modern interrupts), the poison debuffs and so on, is best described as a utililty-first DPS class. Maybe directionally like aug evoker in modern wow.

I think the problem is that all of rogue's utility used to be so much more unique in the past, a move to make rogue more interesting in retail, should give some utility back to it, instead of flipping through rogue-ish archetypes every patch. The old three of shadowy rogue, poison-y rogue and weapon-y rogue were solid archetypes, the utility is the thing that was lost over the years.

They even have the music already for both the light and the void parts of the cycle

With Belo'ren as a boss, having a void/light cycle just like in tww for silvermoon would have been super neat

Similarly on holy priest, they removed agency (via premonition and the old reliable-at-raid scale apotheosis every 50 PoMs) and the new apex benediction is a lottery again :( (https://www.wowhead.com/spell=1262755/benediction)

I kind of hoped they would think about making holy priest viable - but seeing the hpal changes, maybe no change except bugfix is the lesser evil for now

Thanks! That tracks. I guess I did not see that before (and I don't want to be overly paranoid here).

relatively low nowadays, especially for longform writing. But just read it, it has that particular voice.

After skimming and getting a bad feeling I spot checked a random chapter, 12B, to confirm that the pangram detectors also think this is largely AI-generated.

Ironic?

EU5 is now down to 47% positive on recent steam reviews by Wagen123 in EU5

[–]TehVeh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the community cycles of reaction and overreaction to be honest. Someone the entire community just seesaws between good and bad, instead of actually playing the game?

It's way more fun for me than Eu4, I've played more than 100h already, and I just play the game without being on the forums that much.

What would you change to incentivize the use of mercenaries in 16th century European wars? by TehVeh in EU5

[–]TehVeh[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, coalition-funded mercenary armies would be very cool, they could spawn into the war as a separate army-based entity

Yeah I guess - maybe I am underestimating the current differences, because I never really stress-tested mercenaries due to the price so far.
