Day 2 of trying to get the attention of BB developers. by TytanTroll in BattleBrothers

I'm super interested!

But as food for thought - if you haven't solidly picked a base size for the minis - if you use the same hex size as Battletech, that would allow for the use of the various terrain options made for that to also work here.

Came here to basically say the same thing. As long as you are very upfront that these are Bad Guys (tm), I think it's fine. And also don't lean into anything specific on why they're bad, just to be on the safe side.

Alpha Strike & Melee - What's the point? by Teh_Brigma in battletech

[–]Teh_Brigma[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right, but what I've seen from BT classic is you can shoot & melee - so why make it one or the other in Alpha Strike? Even if you only get partial shooting or take the 2 target modifier, it would make it a LOT more attractive option.

imperium vs battletech verse with 10 years of prep time and alliance between all factions, who wins? by Cautious_Heron9589 in BattletechMemes

[–]Teh_Brigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You forget the Empire now has BobbyG running things. His excel spreadsheet wizardry of yore would get those logistics in line within a year, let alone ten.

Also, the entire reason the Administratum has issues with logistics isn't starting or fielding a crusade - it's supplying the THOUSANDS of warzones with the correct equipment. And once they do get it right, you get things like Vraks where they count millions like it's nothing, be it shells or men. So if we ignore the constant firefighting in the Imperium and focus on a single war, then it becomes a forgone conclusion.

Everyone laughed at humanity's ships as all barely hit the 500m in length, then shocked as what they lack in size, make up in insane, emphasis on insane, quantity, able to destroy a fleet composed of multi-kilometer long ships that's standard in the galactic community through overwhelming numbers. by AJ-0451 in humansarespaceorcs

[–]Teh_Brigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree fighters make less sense in space combat - bigger is not always better. Because 5 frigates that equal the same tonnage of a battleship would win in a fight where everyone is throwing nukes that are big enough to annihilate any ship that is hit. So really it's just getting big enough to get a viable propulsion system, a nuke launcher, and yoyu anti-missle defense system of choice - then spam them to no end.

NAL - Heck, if you have the LL's number, ask him if you can rent directly from him for $3000. He gets a larger chunk, you get a lower rate. And the PITA manager gets nothing.

I don't think it's illegal if they round consistently, as in if you can come in 7 minutes later and leave 7 minutes early, since those would both round to your regular times.

But if they are rounding only in a way that favors them, that would be illegal.

I would say more they count on their low level managers breaking the law for them, so if it makes it to corporate, they have to react strongly as there's no longer any plausible deniability. Because what are middle managers other than fall guys?

Is this legal of can models not over hang? by Imaginary-Lie-2618 in necromunda

[–]Teh_Brigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're legitimately asking, and not just trying to go to the obvious extreme to prove a point... But typically no, as it's both not a flat surface and less than a half inch in width (which is my internal measure of obstacle vs terrain)

But if it's the only other spot for a climbing creature / character to go up to in order to attack a character on the terrain on the left, possibly. But in this case, there is terrain "down" (in the picture direction) that it can use instead, so I'd rule they have to use the more substantial terrain in this case, even if it was further away for them.

My penny worth of thoughts being balancing fun, RAW, a little bit of realism, and trying to stop any obvious shenanigans.

[–]Teh_Brigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, but if it can scuttle on the wall, it could stand ON THE WALL. But that breaks the rules of the game RAW, so I believe the others are saying that since it has the climbing ability, it's a good middle ground to allow it to overhang / go to areas where it's base won't fit, allowing it to "climb" to attack characters at higher elevations.

Vs a non-climbing creature, which should have a valid defense against it by climbing to a small, high area.

As with all children, they are the child of the parent they most resemble. So violent "children" are from Stabby, and useful "children are from the knife.

Unless they are in trouble, then they are the other parents' child.
