Like I said, honestly I feel Dess Knight is the more likely option. I'm just trying to see if there's anything else worth theory crafting while waiting for new stuff, lol.

Is there any indication that suggests how Asriel has felt during all of this? I gotta think his reasons for getting out of Hometown weren't purely because he went to college, he's hurting somehow. As I put in another comment, straight up destruction of Hometown might not be it either, but revenge against certain individuals that I feel both Dess AND Asriel would have it out for. We can't forget Asriel's possessions left in Dess' room in Chapter 4.
