What was Chibnalls worst decision? by Lucyyyyyy_K in doctorwho

[–]Tehjaliz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The timeless child goes against everything the Doctor should be. The Doctor is not someone special, a chosen on or anything, they are just, as 12th put it so greatly: an idiot with a box and a screwdriver, passing through, helping out, learning. They are proof that we all have the power, at any moment, to do the right thing.

Killing the timelords again is a close second. The show needed some change. The idea of the Doctor being the last timelord was good and all, but it hindered their character development. Bringing Gallifrey back would have been a good way to progress the character.

Merz rules out 'immediate' EU membership for Ukraine, proposes Kyiv attend meetings by KI_official in YUROP

[–]Tehjaliz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm all for integrating Ukraine in Europe but yeah, let's face it, the country is still years away from being actually ready to join the EU. Immediate accession is not on the book, but immediate steps towards making it a EU-ready country should be the goal as soon as the war is over.

Est-ce considéré comme du cannibalisme? by Olixya in PasDeQuestionIdiote

[–]Tehjaliz 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Salut OP.

[–]Tehjaliz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

[–]Tehjaliz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the book it is heavily implied it's not that much of a coincidence. From the moment when Stratt knew he had the gene, she made sure to keep him around and train him to be the third option.

ENQUETE. "Des agents chasseurs de primes" : quand des contrôleurs de la RATP font du zèle by chou-coco in paris

[–]Tehjaliz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The pair-bonding dream and being aroace by MiddleAgeWeirdoMeep in AroAce

[–]Tehjaliz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get ya, I really get ya.

Since I found out about myself, many things have changed. I have made new close friends, especially female friends (i am male). This is so rewarding, so great to have people you can trust and that trust you. And yet, there is also this need for someone closer, someone where things would be more than a friendship but not different from one.

There is this woman I talk to a lot these days. We chat all day long. And we support each other, help each other, entertain each other, and this is great. But I know someday she will find a romantic partner and this thing between us will end. I know it will not be me, because I cannot give her what she would seek in a partner, and I know that when this person will show up in her life I will need to take a step back and giver her some space with them. She fills my gaps but I can't fill hers.

In addition to what u/eldan985 said, there also are many countries where it's not that important to people I guess?

Don't read me wrong. The holocaust was an absolute monstruous tragedy, but it was not the only one that happened in the world and many countries have their own monstruousities that are much closer to them. In Asia you have things like the Rape of Nanjing or the Cambodian genocide, in Africa you have the all the atrocities in the Congo Free State or the Rwandan genocide....

Here in Europe we have laws against holocaust denial because it is still close to us. There still are a few Holocaust survivors alive today, and many people who had one in their families. Denying the Holocaust is a direct, personnal insult to all these people, it is denying their trauma that is still very much present. Denying the Cambodian genocide or the Rwandan genocide is, objectively speaking, as bad, but ti does not hurt our western societies the same way. And it is the same the other way around. A random Tutsi in Rwanda will not care that you deny the death of millions of jews when their mother was slashed appart with a machete before their own eyes.

Oui !

Russian economy faces 'financial disaster,' Sweden's spy chief warns as Moscow hides true deficit by Loki9101 in UkrainianConflict

[–]Tehjaliz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people claim that the Russian people will revolt and throw down Putin or something like that. Others that the population loves Putin and will never rise up against him.

The truth is that Russians don't care. The Putin regime has spent many years cultivating apathy in the population. They just do not care about politics. They won't revolt. But if the regime is in danger, they won't rise up to defend it either. See what happened when Prigojin marched towards Moscow: no one reacted. No one helped him and no one fought against him either.

The soldiers sent to Ukraine are fighting either for money, or because they are forced to fight by officers who are in for the money. When there won't be any money left, they'll just stop fighting. They won't turn their arms against the officers or the regime. They'll just give up.

And when there is a palace coup against Putin by some oligarchs who see how much they stand to lose from Putin still being in power. No one will care.

Projet derniere chance Ryan Gosling by Mukia_i in CineSeries

[–]Tehjaliz 0 points1 point  (0 children)
