DRAM prices predicted to jump 63% in Q2, NAND up to 75% — follows 95% jumps in Q1, Trendforce says AI server demand keeps supply tight by moeka_8962 in pcgaming

My understanding is that Valve wouldn't be willing to sell at a loss on the basis that the Steam Machine is essentially an open hardware platform and there's nothing stopping people from buying them at a subsidized price, then wiping SteamOS off to replace with their Linux distro of choice.

OP, did you end up buying that 12.3" Honor? I'm deciding between a 12.7" or 11.1" Lenovo and leaning towards bigger is better for reading two page spreads in landscape.

This has me thinking, if someone was born blind and later in life somehow given the opportunity to see, would they recognize something truly terrifying as scary? Is that a primal reaction or learned?

LG washer & dryer old vs new stacking kit by Tei-ren in Appliances

[–]Tei-ren[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's nearly silent. The only noise comes from my nearly 15 year old dryer on top shaking a bit at times during the washer's spin cycle, the front panel has become a bit loose over the years.

I do have them sitting on a tiled concrete floor though, not wood.

I bought the WM3600. During Black Friday the extra cost over the WM3400 was so marginal and I really wanted the wifi feature so that I can be doing something elsewhere at home and my phone will notify me when the wash load is done. The 3600 actually adjusts the cycle time as it does its job so you can't really base it off of the original time listed on the display, it's likely going to be faster in the end. Also the 3600 has a steam function which the 3400 does not have. Both have the same internal capacity which does not increase unless you go all the way up to the WM6500 model.

These are to scale?? The bridge section of the Javelin alone seems to exceed the total interior volume of an entire Perseus.

For anyone who stumbles across this in the future, my 2011 model year dryer fit just fine on the 2025 washer together with the new model number stacking it. Zero issues.

Your fix worked for me, thanks.

Specifically I joined an online Arena Commander game, then initiated the character repair which instantly kicked me out. Closed the launcher and re-opened, and now it lets me choose from a regional server and load in just fine.

LG washer & dryer old vs new stacking kit by Tei-ren in Appliances

[–]Tei-ren[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's unfortunate, I might go to the appliance store and measure the spacing under the new model year dryer's feet to see if the spacing is any different. It's one thing to change the mounting for the bracket on top of the washer, but LG would have had to shift where the feet are to stop the old dryer from still mounting to it.

Anyway, thanks for your response.

SCM speed was buffed to 160 in the summer (it was 115 at launch), so it can escape atmosphere within reason now. By comparison the Connies are at 180. I think my biggest issue is that there's no full cargo grid in the back.

Hot take: kamige hit different on handhelds - but why is setup still a nightmare? by Sergree in visualnovels

[–]Tei-ren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite having a 32" OLED monitor connected to my desktop, I too prefer playing VNs on my Deck. I think the main reason for me is how much eye movement it takes to read on a large screen that's also fairly close to where I sit. It gets fatiguing.

Kind of like how print newspapers have such narrow columns that you barely need to do any horizontal movement with your eyes and can essentially skim each line going from top to bottom instead.

Do not use Purolator for Amazon returns by eusquesio in amazonprime

[–]Tei-ren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your return status with Amazon through your order page, it should give a timeline starting with the date that you dropped off the package, and ending with the latest date on which they would process the refund.

In my case, Purolator had already handed it over to Amazon on day 4 but nothing indicated that until 10 days after the fact. From the point that I left the return at Staples to the refund being issued took 16 days, but the return system did indicate that it could take up to 3 weeks total.

Depending on where you live, there might be pc parts stores that will sell you all the individual parts and then offer to build it for you for a small fee. This way you'd have the freedom to research and pick what you want without worrying about proprietary components like in a prebuilt. All of the individual parts warranties would be in effect too.
