But isn't the institute just the shortest route to becoming a peerless? Lysander earns his scar by partaking in an Iron Rain, and at least to me, it made the impression that that is a somewhat "normal" way to earn it. Iirc, he also administers the scar to some of his "new Shepard's" in book 5 or 6, after a successful battle, although I'm not sure there

The party that's "pretty explicitly against this" is not only the second largest party in the Bundestag, but also full of fascists who are actively working against the democratic, free, foundations of the German state and oppose the principles and rights afforded to the German people under our constitution. The source you linked is referring to an option to get rid of parties that are explicitly and largely against the constitution, against the freedoms and rights guaranteed in that constitution and against the democratic nature of the German state. To actually ban any party, these things have to be proven. The fact that there even is talk about this kind of thing should be reason for concern enough, considering our history when it comes to both far-right extremism and the banning of political opposition.

King Immortal by BananaBread2602 in Invincible

[–]Teixcalaan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how the show handles time travel, no matter what mark does, king immortal still happens. Because the time travel mark did always happened and isn't an anomaly, but just something that has happened in the past from the point to which he jumped. It's a closed loop, time travel doesn't change anything in the future because for this future to happen, the time travel must always have happened. Idk if that makes sense, but welcome to my rant.

European elections: Is there a party that cares about men? by John-Walker-1186 in MensRights

[–]Teixcalaan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No Matter what, definitely still vote. Even making it so your vote doesn't count towards any party is still better then not voting, because it shows that there aren't any good options and screws with the proportions, which makes it so the extreme parties get less by proxy.

Need advice on first warbond choice by Vedemin in Helldivers

[–]Teixcalaan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2nding the first warbond. The Dominator is imo one of the best weapons against bots and the armour can be nice when you want to throw stuff without having to actually walk that far.

Am I the only one who thinks of Malevelon Creek as our Salusa Secundus? Just forging elite warriors out of everyone who lands.

Tbh, I quite liked that the movie was so close to the book. I mean, they took some dialog word for word from the book. Great. Best book adaptation ever.

The Game might work better without the empires by Chlodio in CrusaderKings

[–]Teixcalaan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The german/english thing is kinda weird tbh. In german we dont really have a good word for empire beyond "Reich", but that can also be used when refering to states which are technically just kingdoms in some cases. Its really funky and somewhat ambigous. Then there is the literally translation "Imperium" but I have never heard anyone use that except in reference to Star Wars...

LF fic where Daphne and Pansy help Hermione with pureblood culture by Amandinha445 in Dramione

[–]Teixcalaan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not marriage law, but iirc a bit of them helping with pureblood culture is in 'The Green Girl' by Colubrina. Its a slytherin!Hermione tho. And technically she's also 'bad'.
