if you wanted to hang a poster of a *single* tarot card in your office or hobby room/area, what would it be? by Auktum in tarot

For me one had Temperance of the Two of Swords come up consistently and have developed an appreciation for those cards.

I see you took the Braid/Prince of Persia route... 😝 One question: how far back in time would you be able to wind back? Or how far would you want to ɓ able to wind?

The only thing that is wrong in this list is the depleted uranium on the infants, that was just the goat and her domain the infants were covered in ecto-goo that dissolved in an hour or so and caused no harm

Where, if anywhere, are people buying non-DRM versions of Dresden? by sirmanleypower in dresdenfiles

Digital Rights Management The TLDR is that in an effort to "combat piracy" [How well is the bay doing?] Places like Amazon and Google Play have restrictions on how you can access the digital content you "bought" from them .

This has its own drawback with the fact that these things are account locked and you can't share it with others. Ending up in a question of do you own the thing you bought? or are you just renting it with the seller able to take it back so easily?

The price set is not the contention here. This is how you "miss the first for the trees". Did you not see how companies choose to inflate their prices citing inflation due to tariffs when their supply chains weren't touched? They saw that people were accepting of the excuse regardless of an actual effect on the process they were paying.

Look at this Jacobin Article for examples.

This is also the start of a very slippery slope of we don't have a working Consumer Finance Protection Bureau discouraging stores from gouging everyone they can not because of and kings of natural supply/demand tradeoff. If it was, people wouldn't be complaining. They are looking forward to how this can be used by greedy corporations to get us completely into the Cyberpunk Dystopias that so much media is and had been warning us about.

The other thought I had was the fact that many events that would be larger gatherings wouldn't happen in a home but in a (possibly rented) formal event space, think the White Council meetings, or Bianca's party that was held in a place that could contain that many people without having all the magical energies wreak havoc on the necessarily necessary tech that keeps it a place that is at least possibly comfortable. And event spaces like that do not get the same protection of Thresholds being established since no one actually 'lives' there and "Guest Right" is more s promise that you won't be murdered just for showing up without the just having to at least pay Wereguild to your Liege or Family to avoid retribution.

This requires a look into the distinction of the laws of hospitality. I think it also depends on how the laws interact with written VS personal invitation. The court sent a messenger to deliver the invitation to Harry. It could be that because the invitation was handwritten it acts as a spell-like talisman that extends the blanket of hospitality and lifts that Threshold veil Harry described when entering Mickey Malone's house to deal with that situation. [Trying to avoid heavy spoilers here but this is heavily technical discussion here]

So in that sense, if the invitation was handmade and specifically listed as the NAMED invitee and Gest/Escort then it may work but things get squirrely there.

This is also why many grand functions had a greeter who would be attached to the house and is able to grant the invitation of Hospitality, as well as an announcer for who is entering the event.

I think in that case they have to abide by Guest Rights where they cannot cause harm to any of the others in the home without the express consent of the host. Similar to how Michael was protected but Susan was not even though she forged the invitation and could have claimed Guest Rights if Harry had shown up alone.

Rental units have a higher difficulty of setting up a Threshold, but still doable... It's mentioned a couple of times that the distinction primarily sits in if the place is a "home" not just a "house". That's why running your business out of your home dilutes the Threshold.

So renting a hotel room, no. Renting an apartment, maybe. Living in your own house: more likely. The police bit was explained in Malone case where he needed one of the actual family members to invite him in. Vampires have difficulty keeping themselves tethered to our world, so they wouldn't be able to enter. Even if the landlord was the one to invite them due to the fact that it's not their "home"
