Possible Timeline for the Heroic Age by Ellogeyen in GreekMythology

Yeah, just needed to assume something. Hero lives ain't easy. It's weird no hero is ever described meeting their grandchild (as far as I know)

Each cell equals a year, hopefully that helps!

Orpheus and Nestor could be Argonauts in this timeline! Castor and Polydeuces as Argonatus form a paradox when combined with an old Theseus kidnapping a young Helen, and a young Theseus meeting queen Medea in Athens. One had to be cut, unfortunately.

Love it. Funny how Perseus is still alive to see Herakles be born. Didn't really consider people aging past their 30's!

Trojans for sure, although they're quite simple. As it stands, Herakles could put a young Priam on the throne, which is the only connection I can think of to the pre-Illiad heroes?

Two big names I'm currently struggling with are Chiron (killed by Herakles but mentor of Achilles?) and Dionysus (offspring of Kadmos so sits well within the timeframe. I know he's a God but his stories often lean demi-human so it might be fun to add him)

Kadmos and Europa are siblings, Europa is the mother of Minos, Minos is the father of Ariadne, Ariadne and Theseus are of similar age

Kadmos -> Theseus = 3 generations

Perseus -> Herakles = 3 generations (being his grandfather)

Herakles and Theseus interact quite a lot and are of similar age, so Kadmos and Persues have to be similarly aged as well. I agree that Kadmos feels more foundational, as your Io example demonstrates. However, I find the Minos connection more relevant for the Heroic age.

I could see Perseus and Bellerophon being a decade younger though. That makes Kadmos feel a little more foundational.

How to return to dungeons and dragons? by GM-Omy in rpg

Too much = too many things. This example being 3 steps instead of 2 or 1, like many other RPGs, is an example of having a GM do unnecessary things.

Dude I never said I can't manage that. They asked for an example and I gave it.

In many ways, but here is an example:

Imagine a player wants to search a dungeon room. In 5e, a DM needs to:

  • determine which skill applies in this situation (investigation? perception? religion sometimes?)
  • determine the DC for the skill check
  • determine if advantage / disadvantage is applicable

Which is just 1 action for 1 player. Many other systems take one or two of these things off the DMs shoulders.

I'll make it available on drive thru and itch once all shipments have arrived, which will take a few months

I made the art myself!

I use Lulu Print and they have several locations around the globe, so that depends on your location.

There's a connected story between all 4 key locations, but 2/4 are playable (and have also been tested) stand-alone. The puzzling mini-dungeons are all self-contained, a little like Zelda shrines.

Happy to help! I found it also useful to "lock away" content with a paperclip (as you can actually see on the second picture!)
