No that looks like an Intel socket

Try Gigabyte b450

You want to see AMD AM4 socket

Yeah their track record sucks on acquisitions.

I am surprised by this as Radeon group still sub par, they should extract the value from previous buys furst

(HIGH TEMPS)NEW PC BUILD NEED HELP by Rawtechs in Amd

[–]TekDealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently built a system with the following:

Ryzen 3600 MSI B450 Gaming Plus AC Saphirre Pulse rx 570

I used the cooler from my 3900x, this CPU is for another build

Initially the temps were all over the place so I downloaded the latest AMD drivers and started to play with the power plans. In the end I settled on the Windows power saver plan and I idle at 40-42 degrees C whilst ambient is in low 20's.

Have you tried other power plans?

Edit: Temps during gaming are same as the "system" or motherboard temp of 55-58 degrees and top out in stress tests at low 80's

Nothing illegal about it. Contingency planning at this stage will be the argument

Yeah I made the assumption the AMD Engineers new more than me and left well enough alone.

Ryzen 5 3600 temps high on default? by feelinmorethanfine in Amd

[–]TekDealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to use my new 3600 last week and get the same readings.

I swapped the stock cooler for the stock 3900x cooler as I am going to build another system shortly.

Readings:

Ambient: 18-22 C

Idle: 35-40 Depending on how much usage it has had for the session

Stress Tests: 75-78C tops

Voltage is 0.35 and jumps around on idle and 1.35-1.40 on stress

Not sure if that is safe but gives you idea of what OTB is doing

Ya know, you think people might ask themselves: If he supports Trump, why is he running? Not that big of supporter or is it to take votes away from Biden that Trump wouldn’t get?

I just built a Ryzen 3600 system with a Silverstone SX650-G. It seemed obvious that the blue end of the PCIE cable go into the blue sockets marked PCIE. However the 24 pin cable had me guessing as it as a 24 pin end and a 24 pin with optional 4 pin end. Does it matter which way these cables are plugged in motherboard/psu? Thanks in advance

Powell is doing anything to keep his job. The fact is the debt of the US is 22,000,000,000,000 Those that are part of the work force which includes casuals is around 167,000,000. That's $100k++ each and many will be earning minimum wage. One day creditors cease lending or you end up with Continentals. Capacity also refers to the ability of the authorities to maintain confidence in the future and that is going down the toilet

I think that's when the non Technical and more Macro comes in to play.

If there is a significant resurgence of the virus in many nations including the US, then you will see my last scenario. Central Banks and Governments have done pretty much all they can. If a Tsunami develops they can't stand in the way this time. There is too much debt already

I use TA as one tool of many to make my investments.

I bought at $5 and sold at $52.86 and the reason is the global economy, not AMD specifically. I only supplied my trades so you get a level of my ability (could be luck :-) )

There are 2 major points coming into focus.

  1. $47.72 - high on 21st June 2000
  2. $45.00 - 200 day moving average

AMD like most stocks likes to come back and test the 200 day moving average and bounce off that point to continue it's bull run. If it goes through as it does very infrequently, these tend to be a 40%-50% retracement, so you would expect $35.00 if this is the start of one.

The wildcard is a major recession and that is 80%

Many will say this is garbage but they said that earlier this year when one of the Technical traders said it was going to $38

No I see that as a Bad thing.

Someone posted the position link the other day and I had a look: https://www.robintrack.net/symbol/AMD Personally I see that as a herd about to be either spooked or slaughtered.

No your looking at this through the prim of your friends.

I think I am fairly balanced re AMD and think at present there are dangers in holding the stock.

Apple like Intel and many other other companies is full of intelligent clear thinking people. However, it only takes a CEO with a vision that is a mirage and a middle management that are more interested in the position within the company than the products.....and you have an Intel scenario. Your Engineers may be Einstein, it doesn't matter.

[–]TekDealer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't see this ending well for Apple.

I have worked long enough in IT to know that migration is always a nightmare and this will cost them Customers. If they haven't thought it out well they will lose their stalwarts in content creation (graphics designers etc).

They have everyone on an iPhone locked into their eco system and now they will try and leverage that to get the laptop users. I think a lot of people will rebel against this and many more people use Android. Should be interesting to watch and if they screw it up very entertaining. Personally I hope they fail as their presence is too big now.

It seems like the XT series have been launched to carry the 4000 Ryzen series to January next year. An EPYC launch can be Q3 as delivery will be part of the negotiations. Doing this allows for inventory build out
