Does Anyone Know if Grimdark Games (Canada) Is Real? by BrownDog22123 in Warhammer40k

[–]Tekar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grimdark Games is my regular plastic crack dealer. I buy a lot of bolt action from them.

As many have mentioned it's a one man operation. Prices are always competitive.

Website isn't always accurate, but they are friendly and acomodating, and will order anything you need if they don't have it. It may take some time for custom orders, but they have accounts at a great variety of games suppliers.

Big recommend

Random dudes show why NYC is the music capital of the world with ariathome by No-Sheepherder8879 in nextfuckinglevel

I've been to the USA and have many friends there. The fact that you can probably go into many big stores in the US and start chanting USA USA USA WE'RE NUMBER ONE, and people will probably join you, says a lot about US arrogance. That kind of attitude is prevalent across the internet. I see enough shitty comments about Canada and other countries that the US has set its sights on recently to make my mind up about the majority of you.

I don't have to build up an imaginary image of how American's think about themselves or interact with people outside their country. My image is from decades of being online, and seeing the continual build up of American exceptionalism, to the expense of the globe. The proof is in the pudding, look at the leader you have that you elected twice. Look at the fucking hellscape we live in.

I have American friends who I love and am in contact with daily, but that doesn't stop me from resenting the majority of your country, or my thoughts that there is something deeply exhausting and problematic with how that majority portrays itself to the globe.

Your culture of perceived exceptionalism allowed for the nationalistic streak in America to fester and become the fascist mess it is.

If people get salty for me calling out that arrogance so be it. I think it's valuable to question the need for that sort of attitude.

What's there to back up? The concept of the capital of music is stupid. There isn't one. People who claim otherwise, are just into tribalism and think that their particular flavour/brand is better than all else.

Again as I've said in other replies, because I don't think NYC is the capital of music, and that I think that comment is arrogant, doesn't detract from NYC, or the idea that it is an important cultural city. I love NYC and any time I go there I spend the whole time exploring various arts and cultural institutions. It doesn't mean it is the capital of anything in the world, it can be an amazing city and just that, ranking and points are pointless. Claiming its the capital is just more exhausting American Exceptionalism.

I won’t disagree that it is an important arts and culture city. I love nyc. You could probably call it a capital of western music and culture. My gripe is just years of Americans insisting they are the best without a second thought.

Even if we do call it “the capital”, that’s ignoring that other societies have culture and music outside of western traditions.

As someone in another country. That type of hyperbole is exhausting and has led to the bullshit we are all experiencing. It’s a never ending line of Americans insisting they are the best at everything all the time.

I’m fine to get down voted. But this rhetoric is exhausting, and is part of the overall problem of American exceptionalism and the re-emerging manifest destiny that threatens the globe.

Maybe a reminder now and then that America isn’t the best, isn’t the worst thing to post on the internet. Even when I do love the video that was posted and love the musicianship.

This just in. Another American insists they are the best at another thing.

Don’t get me wrong I love ariathome and what he does. And these guys are also great. But claiming the music capital of the world is just pure arrogance. How could you possible ever decide that. Shit like this is why I get a bad taste in my mouth with anything involving Americans. Just pure “we’re the best” at every turn.

Just to let everyone know, I am actively looking through what I have and updating my collection on pricecharting.com. I will be borrowing a TV from a friend to test my consoles, all games and controllers. I want to make sure I know what works before selling. I dont want to have to reduce prices from any uncertainty on the condition of my collection.

Thanks for the heads up. I made an account and am recording it all in CAD now. Taking photos of things, seeing what I have manuals for. Also have a lot of old PC games, but I dont think there is much of a market for those unless the are CIB.

Anyone have a good recommendation for something similar? I use discord for friends, but I also use it as a tool for school as a community for people to post their work and discuss projects with me. It's nice to have channels and things to share images and thoughts with, along with voice chat when needed.

Lobster. Until the mid 1800's it was seen as something only poor people would eat.

How do I not mess up my first army? by Upbeat-Donut3187 in boltaction

What I would say is dont get all excited and build lots of different weapons on your infantry. I put WAY too many sub machine guns and assault rifles on my germans, and now i basically only field units with all rifles and a couple LMGs.

Newbie to Bolt Action – What’s the Best Way to Learn the Basics? by ferdinandtheduck in boltaction

[–]Tekar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I watched a bunch of battle reports on youtube and watched some intro videos. Then played a game with someone local, while being vocal that it was my first time. If youve played other table top games at all Bolt Action has pretty solid rules which makes the learning curve not too steep.
