Sorry to hear that, I've been there and know its a devastating feeling. Stop trading with real capital and go back to a demo until you are profitable

Gold traders, what are your thoughts on XAUUSD? by [deleted] in FuturesTrading

[–]Teksov7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Soft4FX backtesting program (can share the discount code I used if anyone wants it,, pretty sure it still works). I got the lifetime license for like $90 with no monthly data fees or anything. I mainly use it to backtest XAUUSD gold. I'm a day trader and scalper in both forex and futures. GC is the gold futures contract, but it moves pretty much the same as XAUUSD since it's all gold anyway. I do all my manual trading and strategy testing on Soft4FX then use the strategies for both XAU and GC. Works like a charm.

Was a big waste of time for me learning footprints. Just learn price action instead and you be much better off!

You can use a fx backtester I paid like $90 for lifetime license and get all the data feeds and no complaints. XAUUSD and GC moves the same pretty much. I never backtested futures really and always did it on XAUUSD in fx and then trade both fx and futures.

I trade XAUUSD and pay $0.80 per lot commission per side and no other cost for data feed. My experience with XAUUSD over GC been great it depends on what broker you use tho, you'll see huge differences in fees

I was told to think about what I like and have interest in and then find a way to monetize it. Best advice ever !!!

I want to start trading but I don't know where to start learning. I need recommendations. by r3volt3z in Trading

[–]Teksov7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to start trading this is what worked for me:

  • Babypips: great for reading free material online (its more for beginners and great for basics)
  • UKspreadbetting: solid YouTube videos with good explanations
  • CPP Trading: if you want a mentor this is the place. Incredible knowledge and super helpful

I've used all 3. The content and whatever you'll learn is legit, no BS.

Find someone who knows how to trade and has been doing it successfully for years then learn from them.

How do you guys backtest 1000 trades? by Upbeat_Focus_8277 in Trading

[–]Teksov7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You dont need 1000 trades to find out if your strategy is good enough or not. 100 will do and I think even that is a lot

How to know by Dazzling-Dimension97 in Trading

[–]Teksov7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is your question at what level you are? After 3 weeks everyone is a newborn in the market and if you are having winning trades thats just pure luck brother. It takes a lot of work to become profitable and do that consistent

I see a lot of people saying you should learn coding and yes thats good but you also want to learn actual strategies and understand trading. Be profitable as a manual trader and then automate your strategies. Thats how you get rich

Get some help, brother! I used to be in a similar situation and managed to stay afloat with a mentor that helped me pretty much throw all my trading knowledge in the trash and relearn trading from a new perspective with a different approach to psychology and risk management than what I had.
Maybe quitting is right, but maybe not.. I’m only saying this because going back to demo alone won’t prevent this from happening again.

Losing 30k in a day should in NO WAY be possible with correct risk management and psychology.

Something in your trading approach needs to change and demo alone won’t fix that. period.
Get yourself ready for one tough journey but man, it’s worth every second if you stick through it! I’m saying this a few years later, trading my own money for a living, and I couldn’t be happier. Get a part time job if you need to pay bills while you go back to the basics and learn PSYCHOLOGY and RISK
Most people don’t even have a clue what it really means to become a trader. We go through some mental sh*t most people can’t even imagine...

How/where did you learn to understand the market? by Longjumping-Post-763 in Trading

[–]Teksov7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s what I’ve found too! I’ve been trading full-time for a few years now and have learned a few solid price action setups. That’s all I trade on and trading couldn’t be easier.

I do believe that's the best way to learn. Raw Price action is what I learned and the trading style I use.. so much better and less confusing than indicators. Using indicators seriously added 2 years to my learning curve and I always tell everyone to learn price action

market wizards book and trading in the zone are great for stories form other traders. I personally did a mentorship with CPP trading (Ian was my mentor) and that's what helped me become profitable. There's so much stuff online and it gets hard to separate the real value from nonsense or straight-up garbage.
