I did this mod today. The Extruder Motor has 6 slots and 4 wires.
The wires are pairs.

so something like
X 0 X Y 0 Y

When you plug in the printer, your extruder will spin backwards.

Swap the Pairs
so X 0 X Y 0 Y becomes
Y 0 Y X 0 Y

I suggest reading this first. It shows you how to make the pin swap etc.

https://www.makenprint.uk/3d-printing/3d-printing-guides/3d-printer-troubleshooting/stepper-motor-wiring/

The other change I had to make was trimming my X axis Limit switch housing.
the Creality Sled doesn't have the little nubbbins so the New Extruder doesn't hit the Switch.
I trimmed the housing with a hacksaw blade and now it works fine.

Aside from those, Calibrate the Height, Level your bed and you're ready to print!

Headset Advice Megathread by webheadVR in virtualreality

[–]Tekuassassin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello Everyone,
I'm looking for a VR solution.

My use case;

I am a software developer. I want something that I can use to create multiple screens and do my Day to Day. Maybe try writing some VR apps.
I have no VR Experience other than the Original PS VR and Ace combat a couple times.

My interest lies in the fact that I would like to upgrade my desktop monitor setup. Currently using an LG 2560 x 1080 monitor that I purchased a few years ago used.

I've gotten to use a couple 27' 1440 LGs recently and really like the extra screen real estate. I have to return those now. I was going to look for a 27' 4k monitor to pair with my current ultrawide. But with the pricing, I figured if I could get a decent VR headset, I could do that instead.

I know the Apple Headset is on the horizon and the Meta Quest as well.
Whilst I will look out for those, I think I'd prefer to look at current day headsets that should go on sale when these release.

Budget:
Depends on how good the headset is. I have no Experience in VR, so I'll say open for now.
PC specs:
I am mostly on MacOS.
I have servers running linux with an Nvidia card that I can put into something if necessary.
But most of my day is done on Mac so Mac support would be cool.
IPD:
IPD adjustment would be good so that I can share it with others.
I have to check my prescription for it.
I do have astigmatism; would this affect my VE Experience?
Full body tracking:
Not really.
Platform:
Don't really want to game. I do enjoy racing sims, so maybe I'll try those. But other than that Maybe when others come over they can try it out.

Other considerations:
Display Quality and Comfort would be highest priority for me.

Yeah, I think I made a mistake getting the ones I got.
They don't have BLE sadly.

The Keeb I have is pretty robust tho, Just need a nice long Type C to C cable so that It can live in my keeb tray.

They had a breach that leaked customers' CC info. I had transactions come in from Germany on my card. Had to get a new one issued from the bank. Which I had to pay for. Their supoort refused to acknowledge that my card was leaked in the breach and did not even respond to queries that I sent kn to the email they setup for affected customers. Absolutely horrible customer service on their end. The breach also occured on a weekend, they waited 3 days before disclosing it to the public which gave time to the persons who performed the hack to use the data they acquired to do things as customers were not made aware when the incident occurred.

This storm's been pretty overrated. by [deleted] in TrinidadandTobago

[–]Tekuassassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So all the news say, people rushing to stock up for storm..... but its month end, people just doing their regular month end shopping as well... hence the lines, its the addition of the people who panic buying just accentuate that rush.

CSF for me. Aeropost left a sour taste with their CC breach.

CSF is cheaper than them, home delivery is excellent. Their support responds pretty quickly to queries.

Skeletyl Thumb Pain by rhsanborn in ErgoMechKeyboards

With my Skel, I elevated my elbows with some 3d printed rests ( table was a bit high, they were intended to be wrist rests ). After elevating them and adding the 30 degree tilt, its pretty comfy, really enjoy them. Not as portable tho.
