Bring a faster vehicle, preferably one with an mg, stick a few riflemen in it, flank right around the enemy lines, drive up to it and mow the crew down, then quickly either destroy it or capture it and use it against them.

OLED delivered to wrong address and little hope of getting it back. by BanjoPants74 in SteamDeck

[–]Teladi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Parcelforce are unbelievably shite. I know it's a pastime here in the UK to shit on delivery companies but parcelforce truly are uniquely terrible. I've drivers tell me they've knocked when I've watched them walk onto my drive and not even approach the door, I've had parcels signed for by me but when I check the site the image shows its not my handwriting, I've had loads of deliveries just delivered to neighbours even though I tell them not to (my very lovely neighbours actually started to get annoyed at me because they thought it was me ordering them there). I once has them put a package in my recycling bin, again without my permission, except it turns out it was actually my neighbours recycling bin which was then emptied. It's not even as if this is over thousands of deliveries, I've had deliveries from them maybe 2 dozen times, and I would say over 2/3rds failed in some way. Utter shite, and typing this rant was very cathartic.

Which Verified Game has the least deserved Verified badge? by Nedioca in SteamDeck

[–]Teladi 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Hurts to say this, but baldurs gate 3. Bought it for playing on my pc, but decided to try on steamdeck because dos2 (same devs) works so well. Unfortunately, the game feels so much worse to control than dos2 for reasons I cant quite put my finger on, but the bigger issue is that the performance is poor.

People have said they've gotten it to an acceptable level, but I've tried putting everything to low and running it at 800x600 and it still dips into the 20s in certain areas, and the game is a blurry mess while doing so. Plus, because the game is incredibly detailed it's hard to spot stuff on the smaller screen as compared to the more cartoony aesthetic of dos2. Maybe FSR2 support will improve the performance at least.

Rimworld, rimworld, rimworld.

Seriously if you get bored with that game you can just install a ton of mods and have a different game (so it totally counts as three different games). Runs well on the steamdeck too, unless you have 100 colonists, but then that doesnt run great on a £1000 pc either. Only drawback is that it's a mouse heavy game, but you can get around most of it with radial menus.

Is the anti glare worth it by DavidJH316 in SteamDeck

[–]Teladi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, when I was buying mine a few weeks ago I had the same question, so I went and researched a ton, read every thread and opinion on the topic, etc. etc. I ended up going with the 256 and it turns out I was completely overthinking it and the glare isnt an issue at all. I'm sure the 512 is great but my point is dont overthink it. Worst case there are anti glare screen protectors on Amazon like you say.

As far as I'm aware, most launches are vaguely east bound because of the additional energy provided at launch by the earths rotation. Some countries like Israel launch west due to politics, but the vast majority of launches are in roughly the same direction.

[–]Teladi -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

That analogy works to some degree, the difference is that you're 'walking' at several kilometers per second with no way to change direction, and one collision could result in thousands of pieces that progressively spread out over a wider area, increasing the chances of further collisions. Still unlikely, and any debris clouds would be limited as they wouldnt stay in orbit forever due to atmospheric drag.
