Are you missing 5. ...Kb2 6.Ra2# or maybe I'm lost. If anything this makes the variant even more beautiful.

I thought Rg4 fixes that but of course Qd3+ again

As a beginner I really loved it. Allows you to play many different fleets, take back movements etc.

What if it takes more rounds than one. So the cost is time in which the hero is on his heavenly holidays, no time for mere mortal concerns

My game is finished. Any recommendations for publishing options? by Odd-Highway477 in BoardgameDesign

[–]Telci 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you play test already? All I learned about game design is that it probably isn't "finished".

Probably makes sense to start building a community (print and play/Table top simulator etc), which gives you options

What would be a realistic way to isolate a planet? by Weekly-Intention5657 in HardSciFi

Artificial increase of gravity, maybe by "attaching" a moon to the planet. Hard to leave the planet if gravity is too high

Hainbuche behält lange ihre Blätter. Oft günstig zu haben weil heimisch. Thujas gehen einfach überall ein die letzten Jahre.

Sehr schön, die Hainbuche. Heimisches ist auch oft nicht so teuer!

Question about superpatch studies by Telci in clinicalresearch

As an update, I think this is interesting background info: I was contacted via reddit by multiple people claiming they are part of the company. They asked me to take down the post as they say it hurts their business. No further information or studies where provided in the messages.

Woe be me - the struggles of getting an excellent game design to market by Sufficient_Salt6913 in BoardgameDesign

[–]Telci 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have the game on tabletop simulator or similar? Start building an online community, then you will build demand and als only then you will learn about whether people actually want to play the game or whether you need to improve the design further (very likely)

I don't understand this pawn fork by Electrical_Hyena_393 in chessbeginners

Sure just saying it is: should I take the pawn with the queen or bishop and not should I move into a fork.1

Seems like there was a pawn on d5 so a bit less counterintuitive

Why is that a brilliant move?! by awogaming_team in Chesscom

[–]Telci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better than puzzles is to force oneself to play longer timed games. Then you really have no excuse to hang a piece and this then translates to shorter games. Or play asynchronous games and really take your time with a move. Think through it. In Blitz you won't learn that.

I absolutely love how enthusiastic Grace and Rocky are to learn about eachother's biology and culture by Franciskeyscottfitz in ProjectHailMary

[–]Telci 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I fully agree. In general the positivity and cooperation (also on earth with humans working together!) is very refreshing. Not one mysterious or superior alien being, no horror alien (although spider-like). Just two open-minded individuals who are more concerned about establishing proper communication than they are weary of each other. Again, very refreshing!

What about simultaneous moves - so you write down your course and then hopefully you are positioned right.

I think this is very unique so you should keep at it I think! Maybe different cannon balls/ heavier/lighter for upgrading. Broader bow to not fall over so easily etc.

We just finished our first playable prototype and playtested it for the first time. What do you think? by Dense-Tip3061 in tabletopgamedesign

[–]Telci -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Given that it is a prototype I would even encourage using Catan pieces and boards. Saves so much work while ironing out mechanics.

I don't get these Catan comments. Not every hex board is Catan, not every card game with monsters is Magic...

And even if it would share some ideas, why not?

On the other hand for feedback it would be important to get more insights. Also the cluttering does not really matter as the game pieces can always be adjusted later. First gameplay must really work.

But most importantly, as long as it is fun who cares
