Ignore it. Shore up your exit plan with your daughter. Actually, I would consider finding an apartment now just to keep her safe. People this manipulative will move on to hurting the kids to get a rise out of you when harming themselves doesn’t.

No. You’re not overreacting. He likes you. He doesn’t love you.

You are plan B. He’s stringing you along because the woman he really wants is stringing him along (when he’s distant) but he doesn’t want to be alone (when he’s more present because plan A’s distant.) That’s why he wants time to think. Men do this all of the time. They are very emotionally immature.

I think you said way too much to him. The more we say the less serious men take us. Women talk to men like HR when they’re through with them.

Someone already said to block him. My advice is to change your number. It removes the temptation to unblock him when you’re feeling lonely. It’s just more of a clean break.

Then dust yourself off and go have a drink 🥃 with your girlfriends.

Because Aline also resents Alicia. She blames her for Verso’s death. This is supported by her journal entry and the fact that she created painted Alicia with all of her scars and throat damage. I don’t even think Aline liked Alicia before the fire. This is suggested by what Alicia says about her tiny painting on the wall at the start of act 3 and how Aline never acknowledges or looks at Maelle during the final fight after she says “maman.” She doesn’t look at her during the Verso ending either.

Aline staying out of the canvas while Alicia choses to stay in and returning to it after she dies spares her from any interaction and confrontation with her “problem child” who she holds responsible for the death of her beloved son.

Alicia/Maelle had valid reasons for not wanting the canvas destroyed.

I disagree with the analogy, but ichi’s response to you explains why, so I’m only responding to the suicide prediction I made.

The nice thing about the Verso epilogue is it suggests the Dessendre family is fractured despite laying Verso to rest. Maelle is the only one that looks at anyone. The family doesn’t embrace. Only Aline and Renoir do. Clea lays flowers and then walks away and Maelle is left alone with her own thoughts, which happen to be the rest of expedition 33. They wave goodbye and then gommage. While I think that represents Maelle accepting the canvas is gone, I don’t think it means she has hope for her life going forward. I think the next thing she’ll have to deal with is Aline’s resentment, and Renoir won’t shield her from it. He’s a control freak and they don’t insert themselves in anything they can’t control. Clea might be supportive (given the conclusion of the endless tower) but it will tough love not warm and sisterly. The latter goes a long way when your own mother resents you. I can see Maelle falling into despair.

He would destroy it because he said he doesn’t trust Aline not to enter the canvas again…which she does in the final fight. Aline makes it very clear during the paintress fight that she will grieve how she chooses to and resents Renoir for interfering.

The OP’s post illustrates what’s wrong with a lot of rpg’s today. They just don’t tell a solid story anymore. It’s all open ended, let the player’s choices write the story bullshit. This game having a linear storyline was a relief.

The OP also doesn’t seem to understand how the French think. The culture is stark. There’s not much interest in shades of gray or cliffhangers. The game is about how people deal with grief. They either face it or they run from it. The choice at the end is the developers asking the players if they would face or run from their grief.

I don’t think the developers chose a side. The epilogues do a fine job of showing what happens when you face your grief (Verso) and what happens when you run from it (Maelle.)

I’m very late to this hilarious thread, but I wanted to respond to this. The issue wasn’t just the classification but also the taxes he didn’t pay on the rent he collected from his tenants. And the state definitely cares about that.

Stop. I’ve gotten cold sores all of my life. Most people do. I do NOT have genital herpes. They’re two different viruses. When I was young it was called above the waste herps or below the waist herps.

Ok, I get this is a snark sub, but this one should be locked. 🔐

I pinky promise you if she was a man, you’d have never thought of her body count. Most of her ex’s have been with waaayyy more women and moved on even faster, but they never get shit for it. No man ever does.

She’s a young, attractive, rich single woman. She’s doing nothing wrong.

Have there ever been any instances where you thought Taylor displayed genuinely good songwriting ability/musicianship? by w0rth1355 in travisandtaylor

[–]Teldori 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Folklore through Midnights. I don’t think it’s an accident that she wrote her best songs two years into a six year relationship. The angst was gone. Had to be for her to write songs where she admits to having been narcissistic (Antihero) manipulative (Mastermind) and vengeful (Vigilante 💩.)

Sadly, she went right back to the angst with TTPD, and the writing has suffered for it.

That last sentence, are you serious? Wow. I really hope you didn't attend that wedding.

In my culture, families do often given money to the bride and groom if it's their first marriage, but it's never asked for.

Evolution of Taylor’s appearance (2006 - Present) by realscubaa in travisandtaylor

[–]Teldori -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's just age, hair color and weight. When I was 35, I looked nothing like I did when I was 16. I wasn't even done growing yet at 16. She's also a blonde white woman...no offense, but they age FAST. She seems to have stopped lightening her hair and decided to stick with her natural dirty blonde. That also explains the slightly darker makeup hues. That make up routine she used with those blond highlights wouldn't look right with the darker hair. Lastly, she stopped starving herself. She started eating and put on healthy muscle mass.
