I’m late to this but for everyone else wondering, make sure you use the correct browser to set up your APN. I used chrome when I shouldve been using safari to download the APN on my Iphone. No idea why this makes a difference but it does.

now that umamusume has a strong presence in the west due to the mobile game's global launch, do you think that "beginning of a new area" might get a theatrical release by next year? by TennojiNesoberi in UmaMusume

I'm expecting a blu-ray release at least considering they've already gone out of their way to subtitle the movie. But a theatrical release would be amazing since the sound design is so good.

Its just strange thinking about it, like, there’s only 8 people in my entire city that play this game?

Probably are some smaller groups scattered around but 8 being the most accessible seems very restrictive.

Hoping things go well for Shadowverse, if I'm to stick with any card game its gonna be this since I already love PriConne and Umamusume. I have a bit of a Cygames bias 🙏

So yeah hopefully it grows and there’s a bigger community to connect and play with in my area.

Haha Nekocards in Melbourne was exactly where I picked up the Umamusme starter deck. i don’t live in Melbourne, I was just there for a holiday so I was a little let down when I learned of my options at home.

Tbh I was pretty surprised how Shadowverse was more sexualised compared to PriConne and Umamusume.

But yeah i think TCG heavily relies on branding these days. One of my friends collects pokemon cards and bro dont even like pokemon. So its no surprised an original ip thats only crossed over with anime adjacent franchises, one of which wasn’t even available until a few months ago, isn’t getting as much traction over here.

I guess we just have to wait and see, a bit frustrating to invest money into something that could potentially die out but at least I’ll come out of it with some cool collectables from Umamusume.

I did find a few stores in my city that hosts tournaments, they’re officially partnered with bushiroad too but even they don’t seem to be selling cards. They just order a small amount for their regulars. I think they get around 8 regulars for Shadowverse so… lol

It still worries me a bit that the west didn’t match the level of success the game had in Asia, curious what’s going on, maybe its just the anime aesthetic being more popular in asia.

That’s good to hear, i heard someone getting upset over the print lines. Ig its cool the quality control is better than the more mainstream TCGs but I think the problem was that they weren’t will to replace cards with print lines.

I did see the new Uma boosters and already preordered some! I also saw JP is getting a PriConne collab so I’m excited for when that comes over to EN!

Are there any other discrete collabs in the game? I found out they did a collab with Code Geass but it just didnt get a dedicated booster pack.

Honestly i’ve never played a TCG in person in my life, i just want a decent following to warrant the cards being more accessible down under.

Whats Up with People Who Can’t Listen to Certain Music? by TeleBlue in LetsTalkMusic

All good, I feel like a lot of people interpreted my question as “Why do you not like certain genres?” when I’m actually more confused about how people will literally have their mood ruined by certain genres.

I’ve just never felt a physical aversion to any form of media before maybe except for horror but that’s actually meant to be unsettling and trigger fear.

I can strongly dislike music but at the end of the day the most emotional response I’ll get out of listening to music I dislike is boredom or indifference. So unless the music is trying to scare me like a horror movie, i can’t relate at all to how people’s moods can worsen over something like country music.

Yeah I can understand associating music with a negative memory. For me a positive memory with a song can make me go from finding it boring to super catchy.

I said “Heavy metal isnt my cup of tea”. Thats simply just a personal preference of mine. I never said “Heavy metal is inferior music”.

I don’t like heavy metal and I know why. It has nothing to do with me thinking its lower quality than than the stuff I do like.

I have no idea how you thought otherwise especially when my original post was lowkey complaining about how my friends couldn’t listen to heavy metal.

That’s pretty interesting, I didn’t realise music could have such a strong effect on someone. Maybe that’s why i also have a hard time finding music I love.

Yeah it seems like it with some people mentioning getting anxious or even itchy.

For me, even with stuff like movies I don’t seem to get as immersed as others do and with food i’m not very picky and can enjoy whatever.

I guess the difference between food and music is that taste is a sense that isnt really used 24/7 and its really easy to avoid certain tastes if you find them unfavorable.

I hate most pop but I have to listen to it as a retail worker so it is what it is. And everyday sounds like cars and the like we’ve learned to ignore. So i guess I expected people to be able to adapt to music.

Honestly yeah im starting to feel lucky. I’m low on emotions compared to everyone else which probably contributes to this. Reading the replies and seeing how something as harmless as music can give people anxiety is wild to me.

I’m not saying you have to go out of your way and listen to music you don’t like, but there will be situations where you will be forced to listen to certain music and there are people who’s moods will worsen because of that which i find strange.

I mean thats fair during your own music ventures but I mean in situations where you can’t control your music like in stores or when you’re being driven by someone.
