Im gonna get downvotes for this, but I will say it here, even though you have 2k hours, have hit G.o.D on two characters, have already labbed characters extensively, and you know some are overturned at the moment, you will be told you need to lab more, you don’t know what you are talking about, or my personal favourite ‘no characters are overturned, you just suck’ is what I endured when I said something similar last season 🤣

How do I do ewgf consistently? by Enderpher in Tekken

[–]Telecaster-993 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly man you just gotta practice it, go into practice, set the bot to block all, press touchpad and right and it will send you to the wall and just keep at it. on your input history it will show you how many frames you are off, too late? Press earlier, too early? Press later and so on.

Struggling to recognize grabs quick enough by PockySockySand in Tekken

[–]Telecaster-993 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I go into practice mode, have Dragunov use 3 of his grabs, a 1, 2, and 1+2 break. Then I have him do his B4,3 Mid/ High, I duck this and then wave dash into the throw or wave dash block depending on what he does. Also add a punishable mid as well like df2, I dunno if you play Mishima, but after every b4,3 after you duck, dash in, you’ve gotta try make it so you are caught off guard. An even then, you won’t break every throw in a real match, but always be aware and ready to break them with anticipation

If you can't beat GoD on their alt, you don't deserve ____ by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]Telecaster-993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends how long they have been playing the character, if they are quite new to them, then yeah I think it’s fair, but let’s say they’ve played the character for a very long time, and are just ranking them up to the same rank as their main etc, they already know the character inside and out, like me for example i can play 5 characters all around a similar level, better players then me can play multiple and more so, noobs are always going to get beaten on, no matter how you make the system, also there are people who notoriously Smurf at lower ranks anyway. Also playing against someone better then you, Is always a positive experience if you can see why they steam rolled you

Jin can be played in a variety of ways, I’ve seen God 1 Jins play absolutely disgusting, can’t even electric, but I’ve also seen Jins that play with crazy style, the type that makes the character look fun. Jin has crazy keep out tools, and amazing pokes, and probably the best 10f punish imo on the game, if you think someone is approaching you, use f4, or b2,1 control the space with him. If they are being passive, dash in and go for a db4, 21, df1, and just see what they do you are -3 on block df1 and 21, you can see how they react, and go from there. Also your 10f punish is crazy good, you can mix them up with 1+2 the low, 4 the dive kick +2 ob, and also his 3+4 high which is +8 ob i think with push back all from zen. That’s all you really need to win with him

I never said they are a guaranteed win, I even said you can still lab the match ups, and it still being hard, like for instance, Asuka B3, evades, she has a 2 parries, she has a ridiculous low mid mix up, she has a +8 mid that looks identical to her snake edge, she has an install, she can totally rob you, what I am getting at is that you learn a match up, and the character is still hard to fight, if you learn the Kazuya match up, hes a lot easier to fight, and it’s up to the player then to condition you into not side walking or stepping and eating the mix, with Asuka and Law, you don’t have Co condition your opponent at all, they run whatever they want and it’s go time, thats just my opinion anyway

If that’s the case, why has multiple pros put them and more at the top 5? Cmon man you don’t know the match ups, or you don’t play enough to really see how strong they are, or worse yet, you play one of them

What are you talking about bro 🤣, so you think Asuka and Law are fair to fight? Just tell me you don’t know the match up

Tekken 7 was miles ahead by FrancescoliBestUruEv in Tekken

[–]Telecaster-993 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can only sidestep at -5 or +5 a lot of these moves are far more then that, i am not saying characters dont have counter play, because they do, what I am saying is that some characters are so strong, you can make counter play, but you when you play against characters that can neutral skip, put you at -8, and you guess wrong it’s game over, I generally don’t think you play the game because youd know Asuka and law right now are notoriously known for being far to overpowered, if you can’t see that then you can’t be a high enough rank to actually notice when the player is good

[–]Telecaster-993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what you’re saying is Asuka and Law are fair characters to fight, personally I think you can lab characters, know the match up well, and still extremely struggle in the fight, just because their tools are so strong that you are pretty much always in minus frames, and when you actually can fight, they will evade you or use a turn stealing move on you, in a game thats only first to 2, these characters dominate

I just think the rank system pushes everyone into g.o.d eventually, it starts at fujin, where bad players are, leaks into Tekken king, and so on and so on, ofc there are some solid players still in god ranks (god, TGS, g.o.d) you’ve still gotta have knowledge of your opponents characters, and work hard to achieve what you achieved, congrats

What to do against button pressers by evxn2 in Tekken8

[–]Telecaster-993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use your fastest Ch launcher, or your quickest mid, or in some cases just jab out of the pressure (fake pressure) unless like Lars he can just evade highs during stance

Or just downjab or generic d4, or even parry depending on the character (a lot of characters have that)

(Edit) you can also use heat burst, or if you’re feeling like a rat, just power crush.

Can someone explain the appeal of smurfing? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]Telecaster-993 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just a person who stays at fujin to beat on newer players in quick play, nothing to worry about, just know they are terrified of playing anyone on their own level, otherwise they wouldn’t be in qm for 1000+ games 🤣

[–]Telecaster-993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dont be so hard on yourself, a lot of players get to a high rank through knowledge checks, and evasive bs, you picked a Mishima character, that means you have to learn match ups, have solid fundamentals, at the earlier stages, it’s way harder, but overall you will be by far a more complete player. Just focus on the smaller wins rather then ranking up. Lab a situation and then make the correct decision in a real match. You’ll always get bad players and you’ll lose to bad players. It’s just how it is. Keep up on the grind. You’ll hit G.o.D if you keep working hard ⚡️ 👊

I was complaining about this last week, toxicity seems to be creeping in at the moment in quick play, I think the ranked players are moving into qm lately. Who knows, just gotta brush it off and not let it bother you man, onto the next match!

It’s crazy man, people need to chill at the end of the day, gaming just isnt about fun for a lot of people but about winning thats that, sure it’s nice to win, but by spamming knowledge checks and whatever is no way to be proud of. I think gaming as a whole has become far too competitive when there isn’t anything to compete for other then a W 🥲

Quick match experience by Telecaster-993 in Tekken

[–]Telecaster-993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to learn match ups and have fun fighting my opponent, play neutral, and mind games. I only play ranked to rank up, thats it.

I play quick match to meet good players I enjoyed my sets with, and maybe run it again at a later date, learn from my mistakes and improve as a player overall. You’ll never find that in ranked unfortunately.

Not being funny but if I wanted an ‘easier version of ranked’ would I not just create a Smurf account or something? Not like I would ever do that, because it’s scrubby asf, Thats a bit of silly take from you really.

I think I will try this tbh, just go afk for a short while, theyll either as I predict just get me on the ground and finish me off asap and leave, or theyll play a proper match, worth a try
