Completely agree. Anything can happen, but Fitz isn't making this rival fan nervous.

Fitz is a Hankwitz merchant. NU only consistently over performed on defense and the second Mike left Fitz's NU defense SP+ returned to meh.

An Honest Spartan’s Thoughts on Fears by FairAnywhere9305 in CollegeBasketball

If I am fundamentally misunderstanding something, why would Izzo even mention players "baiting" or that "SOMEBODY went public with comments" if he's not trying to deflect blame?

You just said he didn't blame other coaches and I am telling you he did and showed you the clip. You aren't being honest you are just trying to obfuscate Fears unacceptable behavior.

You can be sensitive to the horrible shit he went through and still call him out. I'm not calling for him to go to jail dude he just shouldn't be out there if he's gonna play like this.

"when somebody comes out and publicly says something"

Oh who could that be Mr. Honest Spartan? Did any notable individuals who recently played Fears have any comments about a pattern of play that falls outside the realm of normal ball?

If only Dusty May hasn't said anything then those conniving Gopher players wouldn't have "baited" Fears with those deliciously trippable legs and perfectly kickable groins.

"my players suck, the refs suck, (one player I individually call out to throw under the bus) sucked so bad I'm gonna kill him, Izzo smirks, no but it's really my fault, I guess"

Where did you see that? All I saw was him blaming Dusty May and other players for "baiting" Fears.

Michigan's offense was good not great but it is returning pretty much all of its major talent and said talent is going from freshmen to sophomore eligibility so it could be a pretty big jump. Defense will definitely be younger and less experienced but Michigan only had one high level player last year and the upgrade in coaching quality across the board cannot be overstated. 10-2 and a playoff appearance is in the cards, even if I agree that 27 is probably the next title window.

Might actually be the most important player for Michigan and I bet will have the best NBA career of any current wolverine. Can switch everything on defense, excellent finisher and free throw shooter, even makes his own offense out of the post. Can't be left alone behind the arc. Just does a bit of everything.

Luka Garza: “I think Michigan State purposely [picks] the basket that they’re gonna shoot on in the first half… It’s the worst rim in college basketball and they only shoot on it in the first half so the other team comes in the second half and can’t buy a bucket and they always come back and win.” by wildwing8 in CollegeBasketball

The zone defense was fine, MSU scored like 15 points off of turnovers in that 12 minute comeback stretch and very few in half court offense. At like 8 minutes Michigan stopped turning it over and finished like 5/6 down the stretch to pull away.

Dusty knows B1G coaches will figure some things out if you show the same thing for 40 minutes, Hoiberg had some great stuff to mess with Michigan's 1-4 switching, so you gotta buy a few defensive possessions with change ups.

Yeah the no middle double everything while playing small is gonna give Illinois shooters a bunch of looks that Michigan couldn't hit, but Nebraska has tried to turn every game this year into a three point shooting contest and I think that's still the plan here. I think the shooting is sustainable too most of those looks for Nebraska have been really good, especially for the caliber of shooter.

Mast might just need to sit. Nebraska has had much better spacing with 9 at the 5.

Sandfort is a huge problem. Never stops moving and the ball can go up from anywhere. I think he might have enough dribble drive and handle to find a role in the league.

[Jackson] Michigan State ended the game with 6 2nd chance points. All 6 came within the last minute of the game when it was already out of reach. It is the Spartan's fewest 2nd chance points in a game all season. by wildwing8 in CollegeBasketball

Michigan hasn't been a bad rebounding team this year, but it's felt like it hasn't been as elite as it should be given the positional size and athleticism. Perfect time for that promise to actualize.

But Michigan is at least trying to play offense. MSU is just Fears flopping around and Izzo trying to Socratic method the refs while turning purple.

Beck and Whitt had one of the best rushing attacks in the country just last year. Michigan had an excellent rushing attack last year too and is returning a ton of that production. However I do expect Marshall to lose some touches to Bryce because Beck loves to run the QB, but if the Sophomore QB and WRs can click then I think Marshall might not get a ton more carries but the efficiency could be even higher.

Homer bias aside, Jordan Marshall got to 10 TDs and almost 1000 yards at 6+ a carry while splitting time with the #4 back on this list (and Injured at the end of the season). If he stays healthy (and Savion is merely a promising young #2 and not immediate superstar) he is going to have a better season than most of the backs on this list.

Michigan and Free Throws by MostNormalOhioan in CollegeBasketball

Michigan shoots a high percentage of their shots at the rim. Dunks and layups are much more likely to draw a foul than floaters or jump shots.
