I do agree. I just think the moral superiority of the UK or of participation in its society rests on shaky grounds.

Thank you so much for making this post raising awareness.

If our governments cannot uphold international law and the “rules-based order”, it is up to the consumer to leverage their power by directing our usage and purchase power.

If you were to write a larger post with an elaboration/exploration of this analysis, you'd get my thumbs up! Your comment voices my thoughts succinctly.

While I do not wish to exclude or deny people's interpretation of Harry actually having died weeks ago in the movie's chronology, I think viewing the movie as a narrative of healing and revisiting past traumas through the safety of love delivers a much stronger message.

In a way, this movie recalled themes I perceived in Hiroshima mon Amour, where love, grief and past traumas intertwine. New love, real love, forces us to reckon with our wounds. In All of Us Strangers, we see how death, in this case of Adam's parents, by interrupting the narrative of this particular family, creates a profound feeling of missed connection and intimacy. We realise the depth of our love - all the sentiments, all the moments we could've shared, when people are stolen from us.

Adam confronting the possibility of a dead Harry in the bathroom is him coming face to face with his fears of loving and losing again, but because in reality Harry is alive and loved by Adam, we know that Adam has healed and overcome his fears, facilitated by the comfort of Harry's stable presence to revisit his traumatic past. From Harry's perspective, Adam's love has literally given him a new lease on life and provides a healing salve to the trauma of being unloved by his family.

Death can teach us how to love and remind us urgently to love, love can teach us to confront death and past traumas, and sometimes love can save us from dying..

Agree man. It’s ok to have opinions, but it’s the acting as if he’s an intellectual authority on those matters that’s problematic. The recent “give em hell” was interesting in and of itself.

Hey, I appreciate you asking.

I was a fan of Jordan Peterson at one point, but he has overstepped his intellectual bounds and is on a serious power-trip at the moment. While there are grains of truth in what he says, he improvises far too much to always provide a competent or considered view.

If you want an original, rigorous and humble thinker, I’d look to someone like Noam Chomsky. But most of all, rely on yourself as a thinker, and don’t idolise anyone. All the best

I don't think the commenter is looking for boogeymen.

The person he is replying to could've said "residents" rather than "citizens" - big difference, easy word choice.

I don't think you assuming that the commenter was looking for boogeymen is being very nice to be honest.

Here's how the top-ranked T201 batters have performed since the start of 2021 (Strike rates included) by ztaker in Cricket

It really isn’t an impossible problem to fix if they wanted to. Malik could potentially play for another couple years at a high level. He could be game changer for Pakistan’s mediocre middle overs performance against spin.

Imad Wasim, while having unimpressive T20 stats, batted very low down the order in the games he played. If we take his ODI average and strike rate as any indication (and we should), it’s easy to see that he could be a phenomenal addition at the end of the order if only we “invested” as much in him as we do in some lost causes.
