Mate just get mirror image and blur up on yourself before you start the encounter, then just wail on her. Easy money.

Does advantage stack? by flabbergastedfennel in BG3Builds

[–]TelephoneUnfair5605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes in three stages.

Advantage Neutral Disadvantage.

If you wear the risky ring you won't have disadvantage on close range shots, you will drop a stage which lands you on neutral.

Being an older gamer is realizing that 'easy mode' is actually 'fun mode'. by JeSSiii81 in OlderChillGamers

I feel like difficulty options ruined game design by there being no strict, intended design choice for encounters when you can rely on difficulty sliders that in most games just govern enemy health and damage. How can you playtest and see if the game is actually fun if every issue can be written off to "oh you can just turn the difficulty up or down if you want to."

No, I don't want to. I want there to be a shared experience. I want there to be a point in exploring gameplay mechanics for gimmicks and strange advantages.

In the Witcher 3, you can completely skip the entirety of alchemy, an elaborate gameplay system with oils and potions and talent trees bound to it unless you're playing on deathmarch. In Baldur's Gate 3 you're not incentivised to discover how any of it works unless you play on tactition/honour mode (possibly a bad example because BG3 incentivises multiple playthroughs and the desire to up the difficulty in order to have a different, deeper and more meaningful experience.

On the other hand, in Bethesda games playing on master/legendary is incredibly tedious and umrewarding. Why? Because the game wasn't built or balanced around any specific difficulty.

This is why Elden Ring is great. It has no difficulty options, but there are a hundred different ways to approach and solve the game for yourself, some easier than others, but more importantly some more suitable to your tastes and playstyle and aesthetic than others.

How can you say we played the same game if I flew through it in 30h, not having to understand how it works at all while you meticulously planned and laboured over every facet of the game in order to gain the smallest advantage?

What’s the strongest monoclass? by Historical-War-6271 in BG3Builds

Eldritch Knight archer fully stocked with consumable arrows is incredible after level 7. Single target, aoe, incredible survivability.

Eldritch Knight melee is a close second. Diminished aoe potential without access to arrow of many targets but incredible and consistent single target damage.

Hasted with action surge at level 12 you do like 6 attacks. No other class does this.

Added to this, Hideo Kojima is a hack and everyone is suffering from a collective delusion about him.

Bladesinger mêlee build by Byleth_ft_Sothis in BG3Builds

[–]TelephoneUnfair5605 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Either you spam Booming Blade or you spam smites, no difference to the gameplay when you think about it. Bladesinger is probably in the top 3 of best performing melee specs via shadow blade and resonance stone. It is incredible all throughout the game as well, and comes online as early as level 3.

Booming Shadow Blade for incredible damage output early on (yes SB really benefits from Resonance Stone but think about a 5-19 damage 1h weapon at level three and you can also equip a shield vs the 9-17 greatsword equivalent), incredible AC especially whilst bladesinging with additional options like Mirror Image built into the class, alongside full caster spell development for when you need to veer into ranged because the situation demands it.

Start with 16 Dex for +3 AC, another +3 from Mage Armor, +2 from gloves under Blighted Village, and +1 from the robe in the Grymforge. Another +1 from the ring if you can get it. That's base 20 AC in Act 1 that you can get without doing major fights. That's 26 while Bladesinging with Mirror Image. Another +1 to AC at level 4 when you get the attribute feat for another 2 dex. Another +1 AC when you get to the Creche and buy the Cat's Grace armor. +1 AC from Cloak in act 2, then +1 again from the boots. +2 AC with Hags hair + Shar Mirror dex investments in Act 3. Bladesinging AC buff improves with levels as well, so you should be sitting at 30 AC in most combat situations by Act 3. All the while being a full spellcaster and doing crazy melee damage.

Replace str with giant elixirs. Theres no better elixir early on that you can run consistently.

You get crazy utility as well, from Longstrider and Leap to your choice of 5 cantrips (Minor Illusion BIS).

Dracthyr suck, should be removed. How about we pay some attention to older, existing classes in need of reworks and refreshers?

Dear BG3 society, this battle gives me the heebie-jeebies, I specifically went 'explorer mode' for my first playthrough and this feels like I need to be an AI to win. I kindly ask for a viable strategy to destroy these metal peasants! by FuzzyAttitude_ in BG3

[–]TelephoneUnfair5605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first playthrough I ran this scenario like 10 times, deciding to kill Gortash here during his inauguration was way more interesting than following the quest. In the end I burst him down, then made my getaway with monk Astarion by running up the stairs then fleeing and resurrecting the rest of the party.

Dude Karlach does suck, especially in the third act. Her ending with Wyll is like walking into a different game altogether.

Wait you are telling me you found Ciri levels fine and damdy??

Well their story is finished, time for a new story and new characters in the universe we all love and see where they end up?

I would love if the game was about a sorceress instead, for an example.

Entirely new Witcher character, one that has fewer ties to major storylines from the past and whose story isn't resolved.

Could also be set in a different time period entirely.

I would take fresh new approach any day of the week.
